so i have been noticing strange white spots on the drivers side of my engine bay, my set up its a supercharged k20a2, no heat/ps/or ac, im guessing its some type of fluid that is leaking and drying and leaving a white residue

i noticed the bottom of my upper radiator hose is wet, and is leaking a small amount of antifreeze, so i ordered the part to replace it, but i still dont think that is what the white residue is, i dont think antifreeze dries white, or does it?

here are some pics of the spots, it looks like whatever is leaking is getting sprayed on there or the wind when im driving is pushing it back

if yall would like better pictures to help solve this problem i will gladly do it

Get it warm (parked) and try to trace the leak. I do not think it should be too hard......just go top to bottom.

Edit.....I will take a stab at it based on pictures.....I am going to guess the lower part of the block.....lower coolant hose.

But that is based on the pics making it look like the majority of the residue is coming from the lower half of the engine bay on the transmission side.

check other little coolent hoses around the engine, i had one leak right above where engine/trans meet. its just tiny, only leaks when system is under pressure (driving the car hard) but my coolent leak never drys white

it was just slimmy green ish spots. maybe try wash the bay, and see if it repeats? could also be road dirt, or left over salt from the road if your area havent been raining much.

if your roof leaked on your home, more than likely you wouldn't find the source of the leak right above the leak found. liquids are funny like that. the same applies here.

fill up on water and idle with the hood open in your driveway. i found out that the gasket for my thermostat housing fell off when i was installing my oil cooler, the hard way. lol.

it doesnt leak on the ground and its a very tiny leak, apparently it has been going on for a month and i still have almost all of my coolant in my reservoir left, so it must be super tiny, and yes i feel like it leaks more if the car is being driven hard and the rpms are up, if this hose dont fix it today i shall report back

edit: and it doesnt leak when its just at idle, i tried that, and thats why its thrown me for a loop
