I always wanted a DIY on how to remove a mainshaft bearing from the trans case (clutch side) because i had no idea how to do it. So here it is. No $100 puller is necessary.

First make sure you have a REPLACEMENT bearing because u are destroying the old one

Get yourself a 3inch 2 Jaw puller. Cheap from harbor freight

Get a flathead screw driver and gut the bearing. You will be left with the outer race

Setup the 2 jaw puller like you see in the picture.
Note:
Theres like an oil plate guide under the bearing which is why i used a socket so i didnt damage it. The tip of the jaw puller will press against the socket and pull the outer race up.

Turn the jaw puller to begin pulling the outer race.

Should come up smoothly

Clean the area where the new bearing is going in aswell as the oil plate guide and apply some clean oil.

Use the old outer race to tap in the new bearing

Replace your input shaft bearing while your at it :p
You can tap this guy out from outside the transmission case (clutch side) with a 3/8 long extension. Tap the new bearing in using the old one as well

Hope this helps

Next time, get a small screwdriver such as this one

Then pop out each individual cylinder bearing from between the hard plastic and the outer bearing side, then the hard plastic center piece comes right out. Then you can either use that bearing puller or a long curved flathead screwdriver to pop out that outer bearing.

Everyone told me this. Even the guys at 2 transmissions shops. One told me to lube the bearing and tap the back of the case. I think someone mentioned to run hot/cold water on the case. None of this worked for my bearing. Mines definately popped once i took it out with the jaw puller so it was in there pretty tight
