Damm dude u saved me alot of trouble. Thanks. I'm new to the whole k swap thang. Just one question. If Im droping in a k24 with a tsx tranny for now do I still need the kpro? (ek model)
Just an FYI, you CAN NOT use a TSX tranny

Only trans you can use is a 02-04 Type-S, EP3 and ITR.

You can use the 05-06 Type S and the 06+ Civic Si but will require some work since these transmissions do not come equip with a VSS, they're electronical. hence the reason why people prefer using the trans I listed above.

As far as K-Pro, you can use an ITR ECU or a PRB/PNF ECU with an immobilizer delete just to get the car to run, if you're on a budget.

otherwise, K-pro would be the smart way to go to have the car running better and for future sake of a possible tune if need be :up:
 
great post, but my motor is from an 08 civic si. i have the donor car can anyone reffer me to a page for a civic and not the rsx, if i have the car i dont see the need to buy all the rsx parts. or is this motor swappable. i have done many b and h swaps. first k20. please let me know. thanks.
 
ok, i just want to double check with the post a few up. even if you have the wiring conversion from hybrid its still a no go on the tsx wiring harness?

and i have one more question if you guys dont mind. whats all this i read about with making the hub in my eg a type s 36 hub and just buying type s axles? what if i end up just making a custom mount for my tsx tranny? this stuffs getting confusing
 
OK plain n simple... if u want you can run 32mm axles like BASE RSX axles.

I ran 96 Spec JDM ITR axles. Which are 36mm SHAFT and 32mm outers... any other axles besides these are 32mm outer and 32mm shaft (smaller shaft).

So, run either or, but its better to run 36mm big boy axles with a K24. (which u need to change your hub splines in to 36mm cuz they simply dont fit a stock civic hub wich are 32mm)

The TSX custom mount, you might be confusing yourself... If you do that im not sure on other issues youll find ex. shift cable lengths etc etc etc

Better to just do whats been proven to work, if u choose to be original, just know that your going to pay $$$ wether it works and pay more $$$$ if it doesnt work.

ive also heard you can swap the guts out of the tsx into the case of an rsx tranny. for some reason im just stuck on the idea of having the slightly longer gears, that and i have a tsx tranny sitting in my garage...
would that work fine?
 
Hi, sorry if this ends up being a dumb question but my brain isn't functioning right ATM :confused:...I'm looking at possibly picking up a motor from JHPUSA JDM K20A Type-R Engine

Now with this going into an EG I'd just go ahead and assume those are just the stock K mounts and not the ones needed for the swap. It comes with axles but once again I'd assume they wouldn't work in the EG swap either. So basically If I was to purchase this swap from them, where exactly would I be sitting at on the list as far as other things needed to complete the swap. Any help would be appreciated.
 
I have read the parts list but I can't really garner the answer to my question.

I am planning on doing a k20a swap into an EG hatch. It appears that it is possible to keep power steering, but is it also possible to keep A/C?

Can someone reconmend a place to purchase these hoses? And add any additional hose I might need, for a k24a2 swap into an ek. Sorry for the noob question.
