RBC vs RSP(euro type R) intake manifold

I would like to know if anybody got their hands on a RSP intake manifold? Did you test it against a RBC intake manifold?

The RSP intake manifold is a three piece design that has much longer runners (about 2.5" longer) and a slightly bigger plenum than the RBC intake manifold. It is basically an improved design of the RBB (TSX) manifold, since it produces great top end power as well.

Isn't the RSP a dual path manifold, like the old integra manifold, where a flap/valve opens at certain rpm to allow a wider, shorter air path, while at lower rpm the air takes a longer, narrower route?

No, it's not a dual path intake manifold with throttle valves incorporated to vary runner length. That's what I thought at the beginning but several people from the UK that have the FN2 confirmed to me that no valves existing inside the manifold.

Like I said before it's a three piece manifold. The top piece incorporates the runners, the second piece introduces additional runner lenght inside the plenum, and the third piece closes the plenum space. This manifold costs about $700 according to a dealership in the UK.

Oh, cool. So what's the chamber down below the main plenum? I think that's what got us all thinking it was a dual path manifold.
I believe what happened is that the back portion of the trumpet from the runners was not inhaling enough air so they where restricted from making the manifold plenum wider in order to accomadate this restriction, due to space so they added a second floor in order to feed the back portion of the trumpet.

Why? It looks closer to a K20A2 manifold than an RBC. It goes into the same pattern that the JDM CTR gets the newer-RBC styled manifold since the Euro CTR has not gotten the same goodies. Of course I'm speaking of the JDM CTR K20A versus the EDM CTR K20A2 in the EP3R. I just see this as an extension of that - give them an "R" . . . but only in name.

Yes, valid point. The JDM R has yet another manifold (looks like an RBC, but is a bit different) and that engine makes more power than the Euro one. The JDM engine does have improvements other than just the manifold, but the point being that Honda surely used the OEM manifold that is capable of making the most power when they built the JDM version.

The new Japanese model's engine output is higher than the European version's, with 222bhp (225 PS) being developed at 8,400rpm and 159lb ft (215 NM) of torque peaking at 6,100rpm (versus 198bhp at 7,800rpm and 142lb ft at 5,600rpm for the European model).

Okay, looking at the photo in the PDF, I'm inclined to think that the bottom passage is a sort of catch can for the PCV. There is only one port into the main chamber from the lower one, and the lower one is not connected to the TB.

The air from the TB must flow around the ends of the runners, so it does seem much like a PRB/PRC.

a buddy of mine lives in london and ive been talking to him for about two weeks now about getting me one. he is coming to the states at the end of april and is going to bring it as a carry on for me. The only thing that sucks is it has to be ordered from Japan and could take up to 8 weeks to get =(.
