got it in the mail not to long ago.. been busy getting settled in the new house.. and stupid computer took a sheit on me so i had to reformat everything.. oh wells thought i would share. its a work in progress...

also the DIY will be updated to include the install of these mounts and the differences of each where applicable.. as far as i know it looks like the ESK1 and ESK2 kits are going to be discountinued and is soley replaced by the ESK3 as this kit allows both k20 and k24 motors to be run off of the same mount

fyi: small note i would like to add... one thing the instruction manual is missing in the parts list is to make sure u have the oem engine mount on the timing chain cover side... however it does explain and show pics of it when u get to that particular section of the manual

this kit also make the motor sit about 1/8 of an inch lower then the old esk1 and esk2 kits.. BUT it seems like u will still have issues with having to cut the hood out to make clearance for the power steering pulley

i never found it hard either way to tell you the truth. its the same either way , 1 bolt on passenger side , and the 3 14mm and 1 12mm holding the bracket to the drivers side of car. of course the rear mount but thats the same no matter what mounts you have.

I have a question about the engine height. This surprises me because I thought the RSX/EP3 subframe was required. Wouldn't that already determine the engine position to an extent? I'm surprised the different engine mounts would allow for so much variation.

no.. the engine height which holds the motor in place is the engine side and transmission side mounts.. u can actually install the engine into a car wit no subframe wit jus those 2 mounts and the engine will be fine..

the front and rear mounts determine the pivot or tilt or angle of the motor which it sits... or some would say it stops the motor from torqing.. lol..

the subframe however is used to hold the front and rear mount in place as there is no place on the actual frame of the car for them

well.. now that i am all settled in the house.. my goal for the next 2 weeks is to clean out the garage then finally get these mounts installed after that.. and take tons of pictures.. and add more picture references to the already existing DIY

Electric power steering. Instead of hydraulic.
