As some of you guys know, I have the transmission from a 2006 Civic Si. Unless I change the shift arm mechanism, I can't use the RSX/01-05 Civic/02-06 CR-V shifters. So, I've explored some options.

1. TSX cables and shifter
2. 06 Si cables and shifter
3. TSX cables and Fit shifter
4. 06 Si cables and Fit shifter

One thing I love about the Fit shifter is it appears more centered than the others. But I don't have a Fit shifter so that's not included at this time. If someone's really interested in this, check out the problems they had on this K-series Fit swap. http://www.importtuner.com/tech/0705_impp_honda_fit/photos.html

So, here for your viewing pleasure, I present the TSX vs Si shifter and cables!

Transmission: K20Z3 - Notice that the transmission side mount is like the RSX's and not like the TSX's.

06 Si brackets: Do not have the holes to bolt TSX cables onto bracket. Si cables work obviously. Would Fit cables work? If they do, they're probably too short!

TSX brackets do not fit!

TSX and 06 Si shifter and cables:

06 Si shifter and cables: Notice that big honkin' aluminum thing it bolts onto.

Take the aluminum part out of the equation and we have a smaller shifter. Notice that the bolt holes lie on a flat plane. The shifter is small enough that it could be mounted on top of the chassis tunnel with the cables running down through the stock hole.

TSX shifter: Looks like this will have to be mounted inside the chassis tunnel. If Karcepts made a shifter kit for this, we may not have to do the shifter plastic trimming step OR cut a bigger hold in the floorpan tunnel! *hint, Brian. ;)*

so I am confuzzled!

say if I want to use the 06 si tranny on my tsx engine. What do I need will the hasport tranny mount bracket bolt on to the tranny? Also what shifter cables are required?

Assuming you found a transmission mount to put an 06 Si tranny into a TSX and are still using the TSX shifter and cables, yeah, you'll need that Hasport tranny shifter cable mount bracket. Hasport used it on a Honda Fit using an Si tranny and TSX shifter and cables.

If you had the 06 Si tranny and wanted to use the 06 Si cables, you'd have to use the Si shifter as well as the length of the sliding part is different as well as the way the cable is connected (One goes into a peg and the other is a snap on for the TSX shifter and both are snap on for the Si)

So which ones are you going to use?
I think I'm going with the TSX shifter since it's similar in size as the RSX shifter. Might have to get someone to drill something onto my Si bracket the TSX cables are bolted on.

I probably would have gone with the Si shifter if it was more centered. I'll have to see if that "stick" can be replaced. I'm out of town right now so I can't really look at the moment. :(

so you have to use the corresponding cables and shifter ?

That's what it seems like. Unless you can modify the end of the cable that goes to the shifter. Hasport had to change the length of the part that connected to the Fit shifter for example. To mix and match cables from a TSX and Si, you need to modify the lengths as well as one of the ends (connector type).

Great write up.

You already have that done?

Keep updated.

So I need to use a Si Shifter or TSX?

If not the other option is take out the RSX tranny shift arm mechanism and put them on the Z3 Tranny? and Use the RSX shifter or Hybrid Racing Shifter?

I ended up ordering an RSX-S shift arm so that I can use the Hybrid-Racing bolt in shifter.

Hey Mark. :) Hey, I only test fitted the HR shifter and I had a picture somewhere... I'll have to dig it up. I never bolted up the shifter cables though. Tranny is not yet in the car so no point yet. :)

It should work with the 06+ Si tranny with the 06+ Si cables.

Mounting it might be the hard part. The shifter cables pretty much come out of the bottom.

I installed a Si shifter in a EG civic as well, welded the ebrake/shifter assembly onto a piece of aluminum sheet.
