ok i think im in the right section for this...

im curious... has anyone tried to do a swap of the acura RDX crossover motor into a 7th gen accord (or any other car)? it seems as though it wouldnt be a bad idea seeing as it comes stock turbo with a 2.3L(i think) engine (slightly smaller than the k24) and is setup for a serious torque output :D ... or has anyone tried to frankenstien with parts from this motor or any type of combination... any imput would be great...

it seems like it might be possible for the new 08 accords.. the rdx engine is pretty different from the other k motors, and the new 4cyl accord uses a very similar k24, as does the new 07+ crv.. and btw the new crv and rdx are based on the same chassis..

search and u shall find, theres a couple threads on here about the rdx motor and whats different about it

and no, this isnt the right section lol

haha i knew i wasnt posting in the rite spot! but thanks yea, thats why i was curious because the motors are quite similar and it occurred to me that if the crv motor is similar to the rdx motor maybe it can be swapped into an accord...

I moved your thread.
The CRV and RDX motors are different. Not only the obvious one is turbo'd and the other isn't, but the actual motors are very different designs. There were a couple threads here with pics and links to more information, but until some people get their hands on the new Accords we will not know how much they have in common.

I actually heard that the k24zx motors (from the new CR-Vs) are actually pretty similar to the rdx motors.. after all they are the same chassis.. im sure with a little bit of fab it could be done into a CR-V.. so i guess the missing link is how different the new CR-V chassis is in comparison to the new Accords.
yea the NEW remodeled 07+ CRV motors are just like the RDX motor, not like the older k24a1 crv motors..

well i guessed i automatically assumed that they were similar since they were both k series motors  ... but yea, i can only tell you wut i know bout my motor and such since i have on 06 accord

the problem is the tranny, the RDX tranny bolts up differently than the other K trannies so you can't use the current mounts, and none of the other tranny's will bolt up to the RDX block. So you can't use it...

BUT if hes talking about the 08 accord, its a very good chance that the accord tranny will bolt to the RDX motor, since all the new K's (besides the Si) seem to be setup in the same way, but different from the older k's

nah, as far as i know that 190hp motor is that v6 motor... its like on a seperate level... now dont quote me on that cuz i havent looked too deep into it, but thats what i remember from the dealership...
both of those are the 4cyl.. the v6 is like 260hp or something like that..

either one or both of those k24's have a weird vtec system, having 3 lobe vtec on the intake side, but no vtec (1 lobe) on the exhaust side.. there was a thread soemwhere around here about that
