anyone know any places where i can send my coilovers to get rebuilt? cuz i have a feeling my passenger front is blown.

there only d2 full coilovers........yea i know i should buy something better...but if its cheaper than a new set of teins or buddy clubs then ill just do that for now...

oh yea my coilovers are d2s.....so places where i can send my d2 coilovers to get rebuilt.

The problem with D2 is that their founder/manufacture are in japan but supposedly they built their coilovers in china?<dont know the truth inthat>. But next time invest in companies like PIC, Tein or even Skunk2 which have manuafacture IN AMERICA. GL on ur problem..

-im also running D2s on DD

-to conquer that issue try avoid potholes n bumps.

eh its harder than it sounds to try and avoid all the shitty roads here in NORCAL. but this suspension is just for DD and if its cheaper to rebuild than buy new ones then i will till funds are just right for the new setup i want. but for now it will do....i dont like it too much. there too soft.

i like purple tho :-( thats how alot of companies are, they say wuteva they can to not honor their product. I had a manufacturer tell me to send back the item to get replaced thru warranty, so they can send me new ones. only to tell me its not theirs and they are not sending me back my item.

nah... I didn't buy it b/c it was cool because it's purple. I thought they were good shocks until I got them. I can't believe how shitty they are man!

Here's the Email from D2.

#1 Kanok,

I am very sorry to hear about this incident but relieved to hear that no one was injured. Obviously the experiences you have had with D2 coilovers are out of the norm, we would not be a successful and continually growing company otherwise. In fact of the over 10,000 sets of D2 sold in the US within the last 6 years we have never had a shock break under normal conditions.

While there can be many factors that can cause a failure like you experienced and it would be nearly impossible to narrow it down to a single cause. We are prepared to offer you a full refund for the original purchase cost of your coilovers if you would like to return the complete setup.

**I was happy with that response**

Here's #2 after I sent him a receipt

Kanok,

No Limit looked at a copy of the invoice and claimed that isn’t their invoice or selling price and their system goes all the way back to January 2004. Without proper documentation there is nothing we can do as we don’t even know if the coilovers were purchased while we were the US importer.

**Needless to say I sent D2 an email that was not so nice - WTF - they serviced my shocks twice, when I paid out of pocket everything is okay and now they are telling me that it's not after the last two rebuild came from them!

Here's #3 Kanok,

Sorry but as I stated before without verifying that it came from one of our distributors which purchased it through us our hands are tied.

I'm not trying to be a squeaky wheel because it's obvious that I need their help and I don't really have another 1k or more to spend on some nice shocks. But dam* he just bait n switch his response!

meaning they constantly crack on the track lol :down:

Yes sir, never auto cross, never tracked. This was going down I-55 in Chicago and crack! I lost control and was in the left lane. Had to pull over to the right since there was no shoulder. D2 told me my situation was unique and after much dealing with them - they are finally going to replace the defective shocks free of charge. This is after 2 rebuilds and since the last rebuild I have put maybe 6K miles on the car. Alignment was done when the shocks came back last summer.

D2 told me they have new shocks with teflon coating etc... and they will check to make sure that it's torqued correctly before sending out new ones. But shouldn't this have been done already for all shock/strut? Why do they have to "recheck" them before shipping it out? :wow:

welp yup got them rebuilt and sure enough the sleeved and shock snapped on me(shitty norcal roads!) and leaked oil everywhere! lasted about 5 months. i bought these about 5 years ago(yea i cheaped out, not cuz there purp) im going a different route...prolly some jic or buddy club rsx suspension.

Hi Elfather,

WOW! Well, there's proof that there's been more then just one snap. Thanks for the info. In a sick and bad way, I'm glad that I'm not the only one. I feel like I'm getting smoke up my a^^ as someone put it.

Sorry about your suspension. I'm going to sell mine after I get them back in about 2 weeks. They have to be ordered from Taiwan or something.

Bummed.

#25 ·
Well,

I have to give props to Michael H. at D2. He is taking care of me and my situation. The shocks are missing but he's cutting a good deal for the front set to help me out. And on the plus side, I'd be able to get this shipped tomorrow instead of 2 weeks.

Whoever said if it wasen't for bad luck, they would have no luck at all... Seems to apply perfectly to my situation.

#27 ·
How is that good of them? They're selling you NEW shocks instead of replacing your BROKEN units for free after their last rebuild?

If Michael H was worth his measure as a man he'd cowboy up and send you a new front pair of coilovers. After all, it's gonna cost D2 what . . . . $100 for a new front pair?

I understand you're limited in options but a decent company would care more about your safety, happiness, and their reputation than D2 does.
