Hi all,

Wanting to get more serious with drag and roll racing and I think I should get some spare axles. Currently have 32mm oem honda axles in my EK. So far it's taken street abuse no problems but I'll be taking it to roll racing this weekend were they just did a big no prep event last weekend.

The 2 options readily available to me are 32/36mm 500hp insane shafts or 36mm oem honda axles with new hubs. Both cost the same though if I got the 36mm insane shafts then I would need to get new hubs too which adds another 50% increase to the cost.

Be aware that many aftermarket companies use rather cheap tripoid joints employing open needle bearings that are at a fixed angle on the tripoid star. They touch the traces in the cap only on their edges if used at an angle.
Honda OEM Type R tripod joints are enhanced load tripods with encapsuled bearinks that tilt on the tripoid star running alon flat tracks spreading the load. These tripoids also have way lower losses driven at and angle reducing heat in the joint. If you do track work this should be a consideration.

Non Type-R Honda joints might not be of that type.
Asked them what they use.
