Howdy! The following is a build thread for my 1993 Honda Civic Si Hatch. I've always wanted an EG hatch(EH3) since High School. After looking for months online for an unmolested donor, I finally found one. I've owned a few hondas: 1997 GS-R that was MINT! It got stolen of course. A 2005 Civic coupe(temporary replacement for the GS-R) and my current daily, a 1996 GS-R Integra and a 2006 RSX Type-S that's my garage queen.

My goal for this build is simply to have a fun/reliable car to drive. As far as HP/TQ numbers, I'm hoping for around 240/175 with my current bolt-on's. I'm keeping the appearance mostly stock and I'll upgrade the suspension and brakes as I see fit, after all the kinks are ironed out.

This is my parts list as of 10/26/14...

The following is from the original post...

I've been researching my K swap for awhile now and want to start buying parts. I've read the stickies but want confirmation and feedback on the parts I've chosen. I just bought a 1993 Si hatch.

Driveshaft Shop Performance Axles Level 0
70mm Hybrid Racing Throttle Body
Innovative mounts
RBC intake manifold
Hondata K-Series Intake Manifold Gasket
Spal Electric Fans (IX-30100435)
Hybrid Racing K Swap Bolt-In Short Shifter
Hybrid Racing Performance Shifter Cables
Hybrid Racing Conversion Harness
Hybrid Racing K-Swap Clutch Line
Denso Acura RDX Injectors
6AN Center Feed Fuel System
Hondata K-Pro
Griffin Radiator
Type-S flywheel
Ground Kit
Exedy OEM replacement clutch
Billet TPS Sensor - Plug And Play
92-00 Civic / 94-01 Integra K-Swap Traction Bar

I'm wanting the parts list to be as inclusive as possible. Regarding the tranny, I'm waiting on a call from Steve from Hmotors for a Type-R (Y2M3). I want this build to last and be a reliable set up. Eventually, I'll probably cam it and possibly even go with ITB's. Before I call Hybrid Racing and Ktuned I'd appreciate the feedback from you K20a.org guys. Flame away :scared:

It's been long overdue for an update. I'm finally back state-side and settled, so I've had some time to take some pics of my hatch.

Image

I had it shipped from WA. One previous owner, 86k original miles. I feel half bad gutting the little D16.

Image

I got bored and polished the face of the stock muffler, lol.

Nardi deep corn and a MPC wooden shift knob.

That's it for now. Next will be some pics of the K!

Cool build. I have the same hatchback. Red and all.

If you run a Hybrid Racing 70/74mm throttle body, you don't need an adapter to connect it to a RRC or RBC intake manifold. Also...you'd have to machine the inlet on the intake manifold. Guys have been able to run a 74mm on a RRC but IMO it seems to be a little too big for that manifold.

HR's radiator is a Griffin....top quality in my opinion. But I'm not sure about a half rad with AC in Texas. I don't have AC but, if I did, I'd run a full size radiator.

Just got off the phone with David from Hybrid Racing! He sold me on a newer version of their PLM Power Driven K-Swap header...

Image

It will be added to their website on Monday, is what he was saying. It's suppose to sit a tad higher underneath the car to give more ground clearance for K-Swapped rigs :D

Image

I like the looks of the Ram-style header that K-tuned sells, but it was just too much for my wallet. This should do me just fine!

PLM K-Swap header came in today...

Welds look pretty good...

Pretty close to the deuce and a half...

This is the first aftermarket header I've bought. Comparing it to the SSR's and Buddy Club's I've seen online for double the cost, it seems to be a good buy. I guess we'll see after a few thousand miles :scared:

Looking good. You will be happy when you're done. The car will be a handful for sure.
Thanks. Just collecting parts for now, nothing too exciting. Waiting on my TB, Kpro, and fuel pump. I still have to purchase my tranny and radiator set-up, along with the motor mounts. I'm sure there will be a bunch of little OEM bits I'll need to get. I haven't decided on which exhaust I'll go with, Hmmmmmmmm?????

Car is CLleeeaannnnnn man.. GL with the swap project.. Fan of Red I See...

I appreciate it! Actually, I didn't plan on having two milano red hondas. I bought the DC5 in '08. Went to the stealership knowing that I wanted a Type-S and that's all they had. It took me months to find a hatch in good condition. If you read above in my previous post, I had it shipped from WA down to TX. It just so happened to be red! Championship white is my preference for oem colors.

Just did a quick mock up of how the RBC would look with the Ktuned fuel rail...

I'm painting the block and tranny and will have the VC professionally done. Still undecided on what color to do the VC?????

Took the VC off today.

I'll be sending it off to the powder coaters in the next couple days. I'm thinking of just keeping it simple and going with another hue of silver. I want it looking clean, but not too bling bling. I'll choose the exact color once I get to the shop.

Check out my build thread if you want to see wrinkle black VC in the red engine bay. I also have pics with the stock RBC IM plastic cover. I also shaved off the honda motor co ltd. I bought a used one and picture said Honda (like k20z3's and other Honda K-motors....not Acura). Guy was an a$$ when I called him on it. I can post them here but I don't want to clutter your thread with my pics.

Black on red looks great. I actually went with a wrinkle finish that had a lot of black and silver in it. I'll have it back in a week and a half, of course I'll post pics. Trustworthy sellers seem to be hard to find nowadays. Thanks for respecting my thread :)

Good looking build so far. Subscribed.
Thanks!
