Currently, I'm owning JDM Civic with K20Z2 engine with auto tranny. After driving this car for 7 years, I started to feel it's a bit down on power. I have a plan to mod the engine , expecting about 160-170 whp. I just wonder if install RBC IM and RBC TB, will there be significant power change. I understand that since more air enters, I need to reflash my ECU as well. If this step doesn't result significant power change change, will putting VTEC head (K20Z3 or K20A2) without changing the bottom part of engine, will power significantly go up?

A K20Z3 puts down in the neighborhood of 170 whp..

I suppose you could swap the head and tune it like this guy

Don't know how he's getting 200 whp stock A3 block with an A2 head. I have a Z3 making 215 but with a full exhaust, RRC with 70mm TB and port match.

There is a user by the name of Chunky, he's done a lot with an A3

Thank you for the advice, the VTEC killer cam sounds good though. However, I was wondering that if I do k20z3 or k20a set up (k20z3 head with VTEC Cam+ k20z3 IM + k20z3 TB) without changing the compression ratio to 11.5:1, how much power will I make. I know if I do k20z3 set up and also change piston, I will make around 190whp, but I just don't want to open the cylinder head just yet
