sorry for being nooby but do i have to depin or just simply tap into wires? or cut and rewire? confused

OK guys, I see alot of questions and problems with Primary O2 wiring.
This thread will show you the correct info to check your conversion harness if you are having problems. This should help out several members. This little pic is the wire side of the primary O2 sensor plug. Clip is above the 1 & 2 positions. Pins & plug facing away. Wires coming out towards you.

1 2

3 4

The 4 wires on the Primary O2 need to go to:

1 - Primary O2 Signal (+) (white / red on my harness)
Continuity to C101 pin 19, from there the wire goes back over to ecu A6 where it delivers signal info to the ecu.

2 - Primary O2 Ground (-) (green / blue on my harness)
Continuity to C101 pin 13, from there the wire goes over to ecu A16 which is a sensor ground.

3 - Primary O2 Heater Signal (+) (yellow / black on my harness)
Continuity to C101 pin 15 (from there the wire goes over to ecu A22)
*NOTE: This wire is also divided and is tied into a relay. I will add the relay information a little later.

4 - Primary O2 Heater Ground (-) (orange / blue on my harness)
Continuity to C101 pin 10 (from there the wire goes over to ecu pin A1)
However In some swap harnesses I have seen this wire pinned directly to K-series ecu pin E4. That also works as an appropriate heater ground.

*NOTE: 1 & 2 MUST be wired to the above correct locations for KPro to properly read and display the A/F readings.
*NOTE: 3 & 4 Can be reversed. The heater will still operate without any problem.

Okay so I deppined
c101 19 wht/red
C101 13 grn/ blu
C101 15 yel/blk
C101 10 org/ blu

What I did was tap some of the wires and on my gray "a" harness I needed to repin and that's all I have to do right? Because I didn't have a1 wired in mines or another one so I had to get 2 more and pin them in.

So lost need help!

ok,
I have a huge problem with to figured out what was my problem.

-First time i started the car, my primary 02 read from 28 to 30:1 then i shut off the car and going to my tuner.

-After tuning, my prmary o2 continued to read from 28 to 30:1.

-What im doing is check continuity from ecu to o2 sensor and figured that the 2 signal wire was in wrong place.

-I switched these 2 wires, started the car and NOTHING!! K-pro dosen't read anything. 0 volt in my sensor display and 10.7 on A-F display.

- Thinking the sensor was bad so i bought a brand new one and nothing again.

Can i have damaged my ecu? Anyone knows my problem?

Thanks

Have tsame issue with my o2 sensor stuck at 10.7:1 using hybrid racing harness . Im gonna be pretty pissed if i paid hybrid 300+ for there harness and they have the wires are wrong!
If the signal wires are the only wires backwards then could i jus simply switch the wires around and the o2 plug??

Unfortunately guys, there is a way that the O2 could be wired in error which may damage the ecu. Connect everything just like my original post shows and the O2 sensor should work. If it doesn't the ecu or the sensor could potentially be bad.

Mike** my plug looks exactly like you picture if you fliped in over like the wires are pluged into the clip upside down and i have a red wire instead of ornage in your picture.

So being said that my clip is wired upside down compared to yours do you more than likely think hybrid racing just mistakenly jus had the clip upside down when the put the wires in?

Do not judge the O2 wiring by the colors.
Put the clip in your hand the way I have it in my picture.
Then test each wire based on where they go.
They must go to the locations I have shown.

Harnesses from different companies may use different colored wires.
Even different batches of K-Tuned harnesses have used different colors.

Please identify which plug is the e plug. Is it the Grey on the engine harness or white on the civic dash harness? I may have made an error here as i used the dark Grey on the engine harness. Do you think i hurt my ecu? Car seems to run fine except for the p1166 code. Maybe i damaged the o2 sensor? I just switched the pin to the white plug on the civic harness and still showing p1166.

i have o2 sensor from k20a3 auto transmission..now i have done swap my engine to k20a2 jdm dc5 type r..i still use o2 sensor from k20a3 but my check engine light is on..i dont have kpro..any solution for my problem?or o2 sensor from k20a3 not same with o2 sensor from k20a2?help me guys..
sorry about bad engglish..hehehehe

The O2 sensor for the 02-04 base model and the 02-05 EP3 Civic is the same as the RSX-S Sensor. Parts numbers may be different due to harness length but the function is the same.
I suggest that you recheck your wiring and test the sensor.

Hi.

I am finishing K20A2 (EDM) swap into DC2R. I would like to use imobilizer bypass on my PRA stock ECU along with K-TUNED dc2/eg swap harness and I am not sure which o2 sensor I should use with these harness without re-wiring?

I have stock edm/ukdm o2sensor and also wideband from DC5 (Denso 234-9005). Any advice? Thanks

The Immobilizer Bypass is compatible with the PRA ecu so you are set there.
The K-Tuned Conversion Harness is wired for the Wideband O2 Sensor.
I am pretty certain the PRA ecu uses a narrow band sensor.

Because you are planning to use the PRA ecu you will have to rewire to match the narrowband sensor. I do not have any diagrams on how to do this, but I am pretty sure you should be able to find more info on the internet.

This is exactly what Im experiencing. Also, a HYBRID RACING harness..

My colors on the harness are, RED, WHITE, GREEN, and YELLOW/GREEN stripe.

Was around 25-30:1 afrs with no check engine light on..

I switched the wires according to my voltage readings I got and now I have the heater code and the kpro stuck at 10.7:1..

could it be a bad relay? where should I check next??

Mark,

Check that each wire on the O2 plug goes exactly to the ecu pin locations I have listed. Do a simple continuity test to check them.

The wire colors are really meaningless, because those colors do change on different brands and even different batches.

I'll be checking continuity tonight at the A plug. Ill report back my findings..

What confused me was that I got the 20-30:1 A/F ratios at first, and Ive read everyones fix for that was switching the wires. But after me switching them to where I thought was right, I got the dreaded p1166 heater code.

Hopefully I find something out tonight. My harness is a HYBRID RACING V3 btw.
