I went to 8-8.2 on a stock tsx lower end for about 4-5k miles. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary at all. This was YEARS ago ... I have yet to see someone screw a tsx lower end up from over reving it.

The question I have to many of you, is have you had the car on a dyno so you can at least warrant those type of rev's?

ok now that im fully confuzed on what to do here i ask all of your input....

i have a 2005 tsx k24a2, swaped into my dc2 integra. it has all my old k20a2 rbl intake mani and stuff on it. blew it up so i went with the k24, it was a headache to figure it all out but its fixed now...question is that WHAT OIL PUMP WILL BE SAFE TO USE? im boosted and b4 the old motor blew it made 400 reving out to 8600 rpm. im looking to make more power with the 24 but i dont want to rev out the 24 unless its safe on the pump...what should i do. keep the stock pump or change to? thanks!

You have k24a1 valve springs running k20a2 cams to 7700 RPM? or do you mean base RSX cams.

My k24 lasted 30k miles going to 8k. But i didn't take it that high very often. ACL race bearings FTL in a High miles DD.

before I cammed the motor the k24 did not want to rev over 7800, it just didn't make the power on stock a2 cams. Once i cammed it, it reved over 8k without problem.

what modifications can be down to the type s pump to make it rev higher?
is there a way to fit the s200 oil pump on the k series without buying an overpriced erl one?
hypertech has a modified oil pump... a s2000 pump wont work if i get one from honda and put it on my car?

k24a1 bottom all oem components with k20a head all stock valvetrain, whats a good reliable redline..? :D

I have a cam'd 07 K24a2 with a K20a oil pump and rev it to 8000 RPMs. No problems yet.

for reference, a 2.4L toyota v8 formula one motor from last year can rev to 18000 with no problems. Actual redline is 19200 I think. This month race engineering magazine, has a wonderful article. Since toyota pulled out they released the specs. 97mm bore, 44mm stroke etc etc

k24a4 rods and 09 tsx pistons type-s oil pump and type-s head and cams, 8k for almost a year. i have some 09 tsx rods siting around that im going to through in with some stg2 cams so probibly going to be reving to 8.5k after instaled

After trolling the threads for a while and considering whether I want to go with OEM or forged pistons and considering other things, I've come to two conclusions:

1.) What you choose to do is completely up to you

2.) People are just wanting to familiarize themselves with real-world numbers so they can make the decision they want.

Needless to say..

I have still yet to decide which pistons I want. Though reading what someone said about even NEEDING to rev this high is a very good point.
