Hi KhizWhiz, welcome to the best K-series Forum :D.

Thanks for posting your engine data here. I like the tunes of Jeff Evans, he do very good work form a external view! For my understanding IMG means, you just bought a copy of a general mild K20Z1 tune from evans-tunning.com and got it dyno'd there?

How does it feel right now after the tune? Any further plans for the engine/car?

Hi thanks for the welcome!

I apologize I don't quite understand your question. My understanding was IMG stood for intake manifold gasket.

I put a deposit down for a tune and Jeff sent me a basemap upon request - I had to drive to and from work the week leading up to the tune so he adjusted everything accordingly just to get down to him safely.

The car feels excellent! I just came from a race header reflash so it doesnt have that initial kick when vtec engages - but now the car sounds and feels very....healthy if you will. It pulls hard and evenly throughout the entire band - low end and mid range feel VERY different much more responsive than before. That was my primary goal for more practical DD car.

I plan on going back to a local shop where I had 2 baseline dynos before and am hoping for a more accurate number.

For future mods - I wasn't too sure and where to go next, still have a lot of research ahead of me. But I asked Mr.Evan's advice and he recommended k24 block before anything else, so thats what I will be pursuing early next year.

As for Jeff Evans and the business he runs - couldn't have been a nicer guy, answered all the noob questions that I had, excellent customer service all round - I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. I live in New England made a 5 hr drive to get to him.

I hope this answers your questions!

 forgot you guys in US call the intake manifold gasket by acronym IMG...sorry, I thought of an copy of a calibration, an image :D.

That's good to hear! That's was what I have assumed after I saw that smooth torque line...a lot of tuners don't smooth out the VTC, they keep steps there and let the VTC mechanism do it's "smooth work" due to rotation time. That's ok for WOT acceleration but in daily driving, where WOT acceleration is just around 5 % of the time there is a sensible difference in driving feeling.

A Frankenstein build sounds good :D, a cost effective solution...do you keep the engine for the DD? Or do you have further plans for drag or endurance racing?

Hahaha easy mistake - are you from across the pond?

The car will primarily be a DD, eventually when I have more free time I plan to pursue heavier track/autocross days

as for the z1 block I plan to build it to Type R spec for high revving and hopefully down the road boost along with it. and just swap them out when I blow one and rebuild lol.

I am just taking it year by year so far, so I'm sure it will change but that is the eventual goal

This is a bit older but I figured I would post it to add to the database :)

Hi guys I have a k24 ek hatch 97 the problem I have is with my rpm it suddenly stopped working on my type r cluster. Everything else works fine I even tried using another type r cluster and it gave me the same problem. I tried unplugging the cables from the cluster, checked my grounds and voltage that go on the cluster harness I have no reading on the green tach wire I know that maybe the problem the question Is how do I fix it..

Hi CHILD, this is a really awsome result with that setup. Which gear ratio or stock gear box did you choose for the power plant? Just curious about torque curve, want to calculate it...if you don't have it :D.

DC5 R gears. peak torque was around 4800 or so on all my previous pulls with the rpm pickup working on the dyno.
