Hey guys - anyone running either flashpro or access port on an '06 civic with k24/k20? Trying to decide which route to go and looking to talk to someone with some experience with either...

I have tuned with FlashPro and loved it!

It is full of powerful features and easy to use. Having tuned using KManager for many years, it was really easy to get used to FManager. Some of the new display features from FManager are now even being incorporated in to KManager! If we could just get Live Tuning in KManager :D. You can download the software from the Hondata web site and take a look at it. It also comes with a whole library of excellent base calibration files.

I highly recommend the FlashPro

Stick with Hondata as they have been tuning Honda's since the creation of man. Cobb is a wonderful company and all, but they specialize in Subaru/Mitsubishi turbo cars. Leave the Honda stuff to Hondata, you will be much happier in the end.

Just to follow up - I got the cobb since it was $200+ less - and - i couldn't be happier!

It has been really easy to use and I have a killer street tune going now with my MAF calibrated for my custom intake, adjusted vtec, ignition timing, new throttle tables, launch control, custom rev limit, tweaked the idle, got rid of rev hang, adjusted my speedo... I haven't even gotten into my cam phasing or had any dyno time - i can't wait!

I've read up on the hondata, but i still haven't really figured out why it's better other than the obvious (support/development at cobb has ceased for honda, while hondata's entire business is built upon it..) But, either way, I'm up & running, and able to make tuning adjustments on my own and saved enough to get a header...

I went from the cobb ap to the flash pro on my 06 si, Cobb right now is out of the honda game because they were unable to get the tuning correct. They are a very good company with subbies and such, hondas...not so much. Go with the flashpro, I couldnt be any happier with my decision.

I think you guys are off base here. The reason Cobb stopped supporting honda is not that they couldn't get the tuning right, and it's not that there is anything with the device or software that makes it not suitable for "serious tuning." It has basically all of the tuning and logging capability of the flashpro.

The reason Cobb backed out of supporting honda users is that there wasn't much demand - hondata had cornered the market and there wasn't much room for competition largely due to the communities biases as evidenced in the claims above..

The point is, it's a good tuning tool. I have my motor running like tits on a street tune i did myself. if I'd had gone hondata, there would have been a kFrank base map that I would have had to tweak - that is the major difference.. Oh and I saved some dough.

If what you say is true than the the $200 difference in price should have more than captured the market for Cobb. It worked on you didn't it so I assume a few other budget minded folks attempted it but lets face it. Side by side Cobb Access port can't hold a candle to Hondata. They realized this and bowed out of the game.

It's cool you got it working, if it were that easy.. they would still be in business with this product and would have a successful showing of it.
