Kicking off the new year...
Looks really fine @doug2507 🆙.

Job for Monday...Don't know if we'll manage the recommend room temp of 21deg for scanning though! 😅
Place your bike on a roller in the garage and brake it under 200-400 W, it will reach its temperature. I did heat my flat in my study time in Winter, had the radiators off the whole Winter in Munich, I know it works 😇. Anyway, good data of the enginebay are necessary for precise parts for power 💪.

What is interesting, dusted off the scales today to get an idea if we're on for target weight of 850kg. Obviously missing a few items right now but accounted for most missing parts and over egged weight for each. Looking very likely to be no more than 830kg wet.
Nice! That's quite a feat. I hope I can get mine under 1000kg fully wet with me in it eventually.

Man I selfishly kinda wish you had a DC5
Is the EP3 that disabled against the DC5? I am not sure, the EP3 does quite a good job in Hillclimb applications. In Europe it is one of the chassis which used to compete and to participate. I've seen no DC5 on that level. A DC2 yes, but I am not aware of an DC5 here.

AFAIK the DC5 is much rarer in Europe compared to the EP3 while in terms of weight etc. there is little in them.
DC5 are worth 5-10x of an EP3 in Germany due to looks and rarity.
This is sufficient to rather build track or sprint cars on an EP3 base compared to a DC5.

For hill climbs or FWD rally cars, the likely slightly better rear end aero of a DC5 is less important.
DC5 has a slghtly lower frontal area and lower drag coefficient compared to the EP3.

The shorter overhang of the EP3 hatchback helps reducing rotational inertia making the car more nimble.
Replacing the hatch and bumper with light weight parts reduces this even further.

lots of similarities for sure but I was meaning more so all those awesome 3D renderings and such that you did. Awesome info. Definitely not planning on competing with my DC5, nothing serious anyway. EP3 id imagine be a lot better for that type of competition. Not familiar With hill climbing but because of your post, I definitely am gonna check that out! Sounds fun to watch!

Haha, I get you, but there's nothing I'm doing that wouldnt cross over to a DC5 tbh!

And too kind on the comment with that first render. Quite rough but good enough to do the job it needed. I do intend to put in the time with it though (what limited free time I have right now!), learn to use fusion / solid works, get a 3D printer etc. Pretty sure I can put it all to good use to drop a little more weight off the car...
