ultimately the crx will weigh less, so it will be capable of faster times, the eg you could run without cutting or modding the hood as much though...

The coupe. you wont need to cut the hood as much and a coupe will be much stabler at higher speeds. Air flows over hatches and off the back funny, creating turbulent air behind the car. A coupe leaves the air flowing over the roof, down the rear window and off the trunk and is a smoother flow of air.

when you start making power, you will be bending that rear crossmember of the crx. I am on my second cross member. I had both, a kseries crx and kseries EG hatch(EG was stolen) and I like the EG for its ease of installation and aftermarket support. I would build the EG

Really depends on what your overall goal will be . .

The crx is great and can be made insanely light . .
The EG also can be made light but has the advantage of a longer wheelbase. .

I am biased to coupes . . .

 

well the plan is to be a track car play with the big boys like ur self but lexan all around but with tech's specs

 

if i build another one, it will be an eg coupe

 

go with the coupe for the longer wheelbase and ease of install... wont have to worry about the cable clutch issues

 

How much lighter can you get a stripped down CRX vs a stripped down EG?

 

This CRX, quite famous, weighs under 1700. It is gutted, lexan everything, and has a bolt in cage. I think its pretty easy to get a CRX really light.
