Hi mates,
Im Alessandro and i came from Italy.
My project is K24Z3/K20A2 frankie on my eg6.
When I start to planning, i would use A block, but when i find a cheap Z block, i choose that.
Here is the topic.
http://www.k20a.org/forum/showthread.php?t=89413

After that i start prepare the car. I no want go OT on the topic about the engine, so i open this for speak about my car.

Here below some pics of my car and what I done until now:

k20a2 head grinded, polished and checked hermetic.
oem k20a2 cams, valves and spring.
k24z3 head gasket
k20a2 oil pump
k20a2 baffle
golden eagle bolt and stud kit
k20a2 injectors
ep3 gearbox (unfortunately it not fit on k24Z3, different position of fitting holes and shafts)
thread and plug k24 oil pump hole

i would say thanks to Damian and Maciek, my 2 polish friends that take care my engine.
And also to all the people that help to me in this thread, especially Signalpuke
I know you see many times a building same mine, but in italy i think is the first, so im excited eheehhe :)

here i am, im studying wiring.
As Signalpuke told, the better way to understand if switch or not ckp wires, is looking service manual of eudm accord, but i not find yet.

the order of the colors, eudm k24 ckp sensor is same k20 ckp sensor.
So need switch anything.

i want let u know about the difference between K24Z3 and K24A3 water pump.
They seems same, but one of the upper fixing holes is in different position.
A3 have the 2 upper hole in line;
Z3 have the 2 upper holes NOT in line

This is another difference between the 2 motors, like the problem that I had with CRV bracket that the bottom hole no match the hole on the block.
You can read about this problem in the previous pages.
Weld cast iron isnt easy, so i choose for cut little bit the bracket for fit the screw and i put a big and hard washer for lock the bracket.

See the pics about water pumps ;)

ABS RELOCATED
I must relocated the ABS unit because the engine hit it.
I put ABS Unit where were the battery.

Grinding little bit the support

The ABS Unit must be positioned with the front face to the firewall.
For lock it i use the nut of front camber kit.

1st pipe repositioned

2nd pipe repositioned

others 2

another 1

how the work look like now

the last pipe from right front wheel is too short.
must be replaced with another one longer.

removed

on the ABS pipes there is a hard rubber for protect them.
On this new pipe the hard rubber isnt ini the right position, so i use a plastic hose to cover.

Work finished ;)

I have k24z3, k20 tranny, k20 rsx-S Usdm intermediate shaft. The problem is that I relocated the oil filter so one hole is missing for fit the shaft.
If we follow the topic linked, I can just cut.
But if I can switch the support bearing with k24 one maybe I can solve.
I don't know if k24 support can fit on k 20middle shaft :(

So, learning last night from a good friend who has my old k24z1 block (same oil filter location)-
dss 5.9 setup in dc2
the axles was pushed 1/2" out.
cut the leg off the k20 intermediate shaft and called it good.

Now that maybe just his axles.
also did you swap the pistons in the k24z3 engine? There is a thread in the engine building about the k24z engines frank builds. I do not know if the coolant and oil galleys were figured out.
k24z3/z1's use the Raa accord pistons which do not have enough valve relief to run a vtec head.

tsx mt shaft bolted up.

so also your friend have just only cut the leg? no vibrations? no issues?
how much power the engine have?
because if just cutting i can clear, i no waste money for buy other stuff and modify the axle.

about pistons, k24z3 have full vtec; pistons looks like k24a3 pistons
(i speak about eudm engine, i dont know if something change in your market)

He will be a higher torque setup. I am not sure on the vibration thought.

I started searching about the k24z3 eudm blocks, all confusing to me, some sources saying they use the tsx pistons. I understand the accord is the tsx in europe. but those valve reliefs in the piston look pretty shallow.

ACTUAL PROBLEMS

INJECTOR CLIPS
I fitted them, but if i touch they fall down. I dont know how can i explain, but they no look locked somewhere.
Sure just only with vibration they can move and fall.
Look this pic:
there is clearance between clip and rail, maybe if i push injector to the rail, the clip touch it and can fit better? Or i can remove the 4 clips and go without them?

Image

THROTTLE CABLE BRACKET
Blox 70mm TB.
It have 2 screws for set the min and max open of TB.
The screw for the max hit againts the throttle cable stay.
How can i clear this problem? Anyone have my same trouble?
I just cut the throttle cable bracket? Any councils?

Image

Image

maybe i understand the problem with the injector clips, but i no find already a solution.

On the Ktuned rail, where is the hole for fit the injector, is machined too bigger for the clip.
So the clip cannot fit perfectly and stay larger then usual-->fall down.
sorry for my english, look the pics for understand better
