I'm really happy with the Toyota Oil Pressure sensor that threads right into the block. Right thread, reads up to 150psi, OEM quality. What's not to like!

I settled for a bung on the pan for oil temp.

Interesting, first I've heard of it. Got a part number or link? I wouldn't mind getting mine of the sandwich plate.

you replaced the oem oil pressure switch with this oil pressure sensor?
Tied in with a gauge also or? Also does the same job as oem switch and still wired to ecm?

Yep.

It feeds into my standalone and my standalone deals with the pressure light in the cluster via PWM to indicate severity. I don't have a gauge, just a meaningful light and loop logger, since that's more obvious on track.

Interesting! You go over this in your thread?? That’s awesome. Keep factory reading yet add leads for an oil pressure gauge? That’s a win win ! Clean and less components. Not to mention my Autometer oil pressure sending unit is freakin huge. lol

Not in great detail, no I just detailed the sensor there. I don't believe the OEM ECU can do that stuff. If you have a KPro you can feed it into one of the AVIs and log it, and see it on a dash and in the KPro app, though.

Ok cool I do have KPro but I’ll just go the simplicity route for now and use the adapter and connect the oem switch and a separate oil pressure sending unit to my gauge. Will consider this for future reference tho !

what happened to "NO" ? I'm still trying to fiquer this out. This has taken a drastrict turn and where's Katman all off a sudden. Oh let me guess he fell in love.

She is kinda cute, I'd be real careful where you put your hefty sensor? I can see that thing getting ripped off real quick.

She is kinda cute 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

yah man the dam thing is like an extra oil filter 🤣🤣 don’t even know why it’s so dam big. Luckily it be tucked behind where can’t see. IF the dam thing fits lmao! I’ll check it out soon hopefully.

My aftermarket gauge sensor is kinda clunky. Perhaps some pix where these other guys are putting them would be helpful.

I can't let this go. The factory does things for a reason. I woke up in the middle of the night screaming.
They didn't go to all the trouble of designing brackets for the intake on the k20a2 for nothing. Were talking from bungs to bolts to brackets. They didn't pick this out of pepper. Hundreds of hours and countless dollars were put into that. Way more time than I hate dicking around with them and as quick as we get rid of them. There's a reason.

I'm not saying your going to twist the transmission off your block but I feel the OEM pan offers great stability and for your use that pan you got....I don't feel good about it. That's all I'm saying.

Oh and P.S, why did they add extra supports to the type R and K24. Because they strongly felt it was needed? The cheap engines got the cheap pans. Can we say "base model".

My thoughts at first exactly. If I didn’t have to remove the pan to add the drain bung I wouldn’t even remove it at this point LOL

either way I’m keeping the oem pan regardless if I put the unit2 in or not. I’ll probably send it to Tractuff to add their baffle and drain bung later and set it aside. Depends how impatient I get. I can’t figure out a safe way to support engine without the trans in and I probably won’t get my trans back up for a few weeks. Working on other stuff without the trans in there is nice & I won’t be able to work on her for a couple 2-3 weeks. Too busy so weekends been all tied up. If I can figure a safe way to support engine without trans on (no hoist unfortunately) (currently have a jack supporting from oil pan) 🤔

Whoever she is? She's taking up way to much of your time...at least you got a few bucks left to afford the good stuff. I can't say one way or the other. We got people here that have or is running that pan and speak well of it. I still think it's over kill in some cases and in yours IDK? Theres always going to be that horror story of something going wrong, like a trap door sticking or I drank to much and fell down some stairs. But you will never hear about that! lol

EDIT: Put a bar/ pipe across your firewall to the radiator support then use a chain or strap to hold the engine. You can fiquere this with some bolts and hooks. It works I've done it! To the hardware store we go! You got people interested so keep us in the loop. :)

it definitely is overkill 99.9% of time. Even when I track it I still doubt I’d need it but might save me? Who knows. I don’t mind if it can’t hurt. Only ones heard of getting stuck and causing catastrophic failure is skunk2’s.
I don’t see this one getting stuck. Checked it out closely. They even bend up the corners of the trap doors to prevent it. Of course never know. Had I known all of this beforehand I would’ve opted for one without trap doors just because I don’t really need one to begin with. It all began as oil pan has to come off to do the drain bung, might as well do a baffle lol. Never even imagined a baffle could actually hurt. Ya it definitely takes up too much time but it’s therapy. Doesn’t help I only get to work on it an hour or two every other weekend or so things be taking forever.
Miss driving it! Haha. Anyways be back on it in a few weeks. Family in town and no vacay time so won’t even be able to touch it for a few weekends. Fixin shit that ain’t broke lol. I guess that’s what we do haha!

All this brings me back to women? You haven't done anything wrong, that's the good news. I agree as I to prescribe to better be safe than sorry. So again your in the clear. Nobody pitched in yet on where to put the bung. You got any ideas on that? I'd ask the manufacturer. Skunk 2 is like a sexy looking girlfriend that will do your friends. NOT to be trusted. But for some reason...IDK. I do admire your style and in the end I think all will be well. There's worse habits you could have then working and spending money on your car. Something about the RSX that keeps me coming back to her. I've had mine 20 years. So what's next on your list?

Family I know.

Went back and forth 100x in my mind lmao. I have my oem one with bungs all set up from TracTuff. No baffle option for my oil pan unfortunately it turned out. So if I run one with oem it’ll be the Circuit Hero type which better than nothing i guess. However The Unit2Fab pan i ended up just putting on one day. I guess I’ll just leave it on and if I ever reel the itch or want to put the oem pan and circuit baffle I’ll do so. Definitely won’t sell my oem one so it’ll be wrapped up on the side. Here’s a pic of the Unit2Fab pan on. lol i know. I haven’t had time to work on the car for past couple months, I did actually finish my fuel return system though! Flex fuel sensor etc all in @52 psi no leaks haha, yes! I’m hoping to at least get it back mobile in the next few weekends! 🤣. Miss driving it badly!
Btw haha great analogy on Junk I mean Skank2. Sexy girlfriend that’ll sleep with your friends. My thoughts exactly. (No offense to peeps whom have good experience with S2, I just had horrible experiences with them, minor issues with product BUT mainly their customer service or lack thereof is what ultimately turned me off badly & I pulled everything s2 off. I had their pro manifold, throttle body some other stuff and was about to run their cams, springs, Header , exhaust & almost ordered their coilovers also, until I got a taste of how they blame the me user almost as a knee jerk reaction before even assessing things. Not to mention multiple UN knowledgeable people handling these issues whom have no idea also. Reply time was days and weeks if any , vague and left out important info with their products.. etc etc anyway. Rant over , that’s just my personal experience with them, it was a blessing it was early on! I thank 🙏🏼 God for that or I would’ve wasted a lot of more $$ and time) Their stuff does look good tho! Kinda like Sig! I mean I could deal with issues and move on but the way they handled their faulty p320 issues made me vow never to buy another Sig product ever again.

Anyways got way off topic! Brought back some nerves! LMAO! Here’s pics of my Unit2Fab pan. and some of my fuel return setup since I’m stoked I finished something been so busy.

You will see, it keeps a greater g-force stability. We see up to 1.6 G no oil pressure issues. In contrast, I am in holiday and rented a Fiat 500 Hybrid, every left corner with a bit more punch in first gear does shake the cockpit alarming: "insufficient oil pressure". I've not tested yet 2nd gear high speed cornering 🤭. Anyway, the Unit2Fab is calming it down in your chassis. Maybe we should suggest Fiat the same 😇.
