I finished tearing down my K24A8 (190k miles) and noticed these cracks. I do not know what would of caused them. All the other parts of the girdle seem fine. I don't have a picture of the whole girdle, but I can go out and get it if anyone wants the pic. (Also, is this called the main crank girdle?)

Can I still use this girdle for NA and Forced Induction?

Would it be better to buy a new one?

Thanks in advance.

Nah, just bummed I spent all that time tearing it down since most (if not all) of the OEM internals are not gonna be reused. Only bought the car cause I knew it had a K24 with a 5spd M/T.
Oh well. Could definitely sell off most of the K24A8 parts. Time to look for a bare bones block.

I operated a LAMPE it's German made. I produced molds that then went to casting. I was not in charge of quality control so as you can imagine, if it came out of the machine it went on the rack. This was back in 2006. ALOT of what I did was for Volvo Penta. They were boat parts. If your plane goes down in the ocean. I will be there for you. 😁

I don't know what to tell you? lol I was making pieces for outdrives. (boats) You know how I feel about Titanium It's just neat. I was minding my own business making sand cast molds. I was not making a couple G's per piece. But it was piece work, as in I was required to "make rate". Your not the real police and I don't know where your going with this but I didn't do it.

I'm just messing with you man but I would not want the responsibility of making blades for an aircraft, that's for sure. We have some sayings also. " When my ship sails". "when my ship comes in". You might be onto something with this whole "I'll just go swimming" thing? I'm going to respectfully decline your offer and stay on the boat. I'll route for you though. Paddle lotus paddle!
