Not so plain and simple, a Euro Civic has K20A2 and the JDM Integra is a K20A, Different pistons, cams etc which is the only model you can buy in Europe as an import.

Yes the EURO Civic type R is a k20a2 with different cams, pistons etc etc but the Japanese(JDM) Civic Type R and Integra Type R are both k20a's and are identical as far as pistons, cams etc etc. The only difference is the Exhaust Manifold and ECU.

I've seen pics of the ctr exhaust mani and it looks nearly identical to the itr one ... so I don't think the differences are in the ex. mani ...

electric power steering should bring the ctr's hp higher than the itr motor ... but it's still rated lower ... :|

Remember though...The CTR motor is only rated at 5 CRANK hp less which is not much at all...So the smallest difference in the manifold could take away that little amount of power. Plus the ECU may have small changes to the air/fuel to accomidate the minor differences in the manifold.

who cares.... either way you are getting a badass motor with a great tranny and a lsd. K pro can fix any hp "problem" you are having. If anything other than the header it may have slight changes in ignition or cam angle or the a/f, really the only way to tell would be to datalog each motor in a climate controled room and both motors having the exact same header for each test.

The JDM CTR and ITR share the same exact ex-mani. Look up the Spoon part numbers that allow you to swap out the JDM ex-mani parts. The DC5R and EP3R share the exact same interchangeable ex-mani parts. My guess is the ECU and catback exhaust system are what gives them a 5hp difference.

I hope so, I'm using a JDM CTR motor and the 4-2 exhaust manifold in my RSX-S. I have the JDM ITR 2-1 downpipe/cat (but gutted, so no cat) to complete the header. If it's indeed different, I might have to get something else, like the Spoon 4-2 manifold or ITR 4-2 manifold. If anyone has come to a conclusion on this, let me know.
