I've recently picked up a replacement transmission for my K20A motor, as my Y2M3 seems to have failed.
Problem: I'm getting conflicting information and cannot confirm the type of trans that I've just purchased. The seller (who seemed legit) claims that it came out of a 2009 Civic Si (FG2), which had 118km (74mi), so I was expecting that the code on the housing would read NPP4. To my surprise, this was not the case, the sticker read SPNM. Foreign to this code, I did some quick research on the spot which concluded that this code is inherent to the FD2 trans. In either case, PNN4 or SPNM, the trans looked to be in pretty good nic, so I decided to proceed with the purchase.
After arriving home I did some further inspection, and determined that the VIN states FG2. So, this leaves me utterly confused. Obviously, the SPNM with its carbon synchros and 5.06 FD would be epic, but I'm not certain this is the case.
