Dude, do some research and READ a lot before you open your mouth.
The ep3's vtec is not considered vtec but vtec-e which is only good for fuel economy.
There's not high rpm vtec engagement like in the B series engines, so bro, you better do some reading!!!

bro, if the engine is running on the 12 cylinders then at around 2200 rmps it kicks in to 16 cylinders the engine has done something different. just because there is no huge kick like the older models dosent mean its not there. variable valve timing w/ a caine driven motor is still variable valve timing electronically controlled(vtec). so i have read something. i await your reply.......

So, let me get this straight, the EP does not have vtec, therefore, that is the reason why those cams won't work?
Hmm... interesting... I always thought those cams won't work is because of the head design altogether... :sarcasm:

i would have to agree with ep3er...go drive an rsx type s and u'lll know the difference.........ep3 vtec is like an single-cam vtec..would u call a single real vtec?

K20a3-Acura Rsx Base and Civic SI models come in with 9.8:1 compression and 2 liters of displacement. The Base motor is rated at 160hp at 6500rpm and 141lb-ft at 4000 rpm. This motor does not use the conventional VTEC mechanism from the earlier B series motors but does have VTC. Instead it only has 2 cam lobes on the intake side and 1 on the exhaust lob. This motor has no VTEC mechanism on the exhaust cam and runs on 12 valves before 2200rpm with the other 4 slightly opening. It also has smaller ports than the Type S and Type R. The motor comes with a 5 speed transmission instead of the 6 speed and has no LSD.

Now stop hi-jacking the guys' thread. I stole that from hybrid-racing's website.
