im planning to put on work CR KAI rims 17x7 or 17x8 with +32 or +42 offset. i my driving style is canyon carving/ time acttak.Im running on 17x9's +35's.. i had to roll the fenders and run a little camber but they fit. Im also running on 245 tires. What size are the wheels? How wide?
If you get the 17x8 get it in the +35 if you can. You can run the 17x7 with a +32 just fine too. I suggest getting the 17x8 simply for the fact you can run up to 235's on there no problem.im planning to put on work CR KAI rims 17x7 or 17x8 with +32 or +42 offset. i my driving style is canyon carving/ time acttak.
for the 17x8 do i have to roll the front n rear, will i need a wheel spacer n rear camber kit??If you get the 17x8 get it in the +35 if you can. You can run the 17x7 with a +32 just fine too. I suggest getting the 17x8 simply for the fact you can run up to 235's on there no problem.
You wont need to roll anything.. it would be a good thing to get a rear camber kit but i don't think you really need it. My friend has a set of 17x8 +35 andhe rolled his rear fender just a tad, but to me its not even rolled lol he just kinda rolled over the edge a tiny bit. He is also running 225/45 tires.for the 17x8 do i have to roll the front n rear, will i need a wheel spacer n rear camber kit??
how low is his car???You wont need to roll anything.. it would be a good thing to get a rear camber kit but i don't think you really need it. DAMN!:wow:He's at a finger gap which is pretty low with 17's.
would it be the same if i have the dc5 tein flex on my ep? And how do i prevent this??Lowering the ep3 and asking it to handle with out moving all the suspension mounting points is kinda dumb. look at this pic...

the minute the lca angles up from the middle of the car, conering loads act to compress the suspension....say hello to your bumpstops.

Have you ever seen this vid?....

I hate to say it, but I think the ep3/dc5 was designed as a great big F-U to the tuner companies out there by honda....the above vid is basicly the head of spoon admitting they could not lower/ improve the 05-06 type-r's suspension....to lower the platform, you need roll center correctors and you have to address angles on the tierod ends...and that is just the front suspension. Realtime ended up changing all the lca's mounting points in the front and just redesigning the rear suspension all together to meet the drop limit of the racing series. Do yourself a huge favor, leave the drop to the ricers and the racer want-a-bees.......You will of course run into the drivers of the old Honda's that will talk a bunch of crap about McPherson strut suspensions.....ask them if this is why m3's,911's,evo's and sti's suck on the track so much..........they all have McPherson strut suspensions and they all have to worry about lca angles.![]()
