Hi.
I can`t understand why ARP headstuds from B16/b18 isn`t fit to K20.

I compared stock headstuds B16 and K20, in my opinion they are really identical, only little different in lenght, but really small (perhaps it is doesn`t matter)

All poeples which I asked about fitting ARP B16 headstuds to K20

all aswered NOT fit.

I ask why? Somebody try use ARP B16 headstuds in K20? Where is a problem?

thanks for any info.

If you want ARP head studs call them and they will tell you what mesurements to take and they will see if they can provide you with something. Thats what I was going to do before I ordered the Golden Eagle studs from Camp1320 + they are less money than ARP.

"...You are right, they do not make any studs for the RSX, but I used the B18 head studs which are a bit longer, but I fabricated a set of hard steel washers to make them work. To build an engine you have to be intelligent and find other solutions for your needs. At the time I biult my engine, there was no block guard, so I welded the top deck. Try to find o Tilton clutch for the car, and they don't have anything yet, however I talked to them and sent me one they had as a test unit.

The boost was dropping from 28 to 22 because that is the way I have it mapped on the Haltech Boost controller.

If you do not want to believe , it is up to you. I really don't care. I am really happy with my car and I know it must be one of the fastest if not the fastest street RSX.

ARP has head studs for the k20a,a2,a3,k24 motor I know because I sell about a set a day and I personally have a set. I will post up tomorrow what the p/n is when I get to work. The reason why the b16 will work but really don't fit properly is do to how far the b18c1/b16a bolt is threaded. That B series bolt doesn't have threads that go down long enough on the bolt to allow the bolt to seat at the bottom of the hole properly so when you torque the stud you are actually putting pressure on the block threads and slowly pulling then out of the block.
