Stock wise? And one modified with I/H/E? Ive heard stock making 184whp. Are they really making this much stock? Is there higher? Also How much do they make modded with what i just asked for? Ive seen from 215-220 stock k20R motors with just those bolt ons. Has anyone hit 230 with just I/H/E? I hope this doesnt sound noobish. Just trying to find out what the strongest K20 Motors make to the ground and also the modified ones.

Word? This is with a stock block K20R motor? Is that normal to aim for that much 250whp? Or do they have more work done? I was just looking for I/H/E tuned on K-Pro. Thats what im talking about basically. I know this is off topic, but what is the k20 bottom end sleeves made from? You also got any info on this car? Any links of threads or anything?

the k20a r that belongs to Derek from Hondata made 250 but not on a dynojet.... So around 230 whp on a dynojet......

There are a couple of k20a r that were dynoed around 222 by DTR-fab DNRperformance people...

I have seen a few dynos and on average:

a stock k20a type r with a cheap exhaust in a EG/EK and a type R ecu will make around 180 whp which is pretty much the claim of honda of 220HP sae (considering the drive loss)

From then on just adding k pro will take it up to 200 whp untuned... maybe more tuned like 205-210

With a nice header i/h/e and an experienced k pro tuner 215-220 is very possible.

Anyhting after that requires more tuning knowledge like the knowledge the hondata owners have...

With ITBS , (although not very streetable) another 10 whp is possible. ( non vtec's car gained that on a stock motor)

So there we are on a theoretical 235 whp-240 whp ona stock motor with a nice intake , header.

As far as fuel, high octane is needed for these numbers.

My opinion anyway,

Nikos

Interesting. So by on street gas this car still cant be tuned to its max? With k pro could you have 2 maps tuned for 2 different gases?

with some mild head porting as they called it, they were able to get 220 out of a k20a2....

On lower octane, the k20a2 makes power but on high octane the k20ar shines more...

YOu shouldn;t worry about that though. Every car and dyno are different. 220 whp has been done on a k20a r more than a few cars...

yes it was stock internals. i dont know if you should aim that high because the header they used was custom designed and fabricated(in other words, would be expensive) and the car also spent lots of hours on the dyno.

Well I have a smallish list from the dyno I use...

a Stock K20A-R made 185whp
a Stock K20A-R with hondata K-Pro on race gas made 200whp
a K20A-R with K-Pro, Toda header, Race gas made 210whp
My K20A-R with a standalone modified B-series Comp with VTC killer cam gears, open header, intake made 215whp
with the TWM ITB's it makes 221whp... But it makes that power from 7000rpm to 8200rpm

All dyno's used the same ratio's and the same machine, with the same old guy tuning them...

On what dyno was this? And what do you mean by "modified B-series Comp with VTC killer cam gears"? And were the last 2 runs on race gas? [/quote]

I run a LINK PLUS computer it cant adjust the VTC functions on the motor, so we removed it and put in manually adjustable cam gears...

I run race gas, but its only AV-GAS not the good stuff yet...

I run on a DYNA-PACK... But the Dyno-Pack's here are really accurate honestly, it makes the least amount of power than any other dyno over here.... But dyna-pack is made here aswell...

Wow. With that said, your numbers are damn good. Especially since your using B series gears instead of tuning it with K-Pro.

The support fr Hondata over here sucks arse.. Personally the hassles they have here and in australia make it more worth while to try and use something different... Plus we built my car before Hondata released the K-Pro, so we got something made locally and got it to run on a cam angle pick up instead of a crank angle pick up... The car runs mint, hopefully on sunday if the weather holds up I will have a mid 11 to back up my power figures...

with a stock (and I mean stock JDM) engine, I think that ~205-210WHP is the MAX without FI, that's including the best manifold you can get, CAI's, re-mapped, etc etc.

loose the plenum, fit decent ITB's etc etc, you might just get to 220whp

the std injectors do not have the flow to get any more than this (without raising the rail pressure massively)

Non - JDM's seem to be ~10 behind this...
