I have K24A2 Supercharged and getting ready to upgrade downpipe and catback. 2.4 vs. 2.0 is my question, if a boosted 2.0L requires a 3" downpipe for peak performance, because the 2.4L is clearing more exhaust a 3.5" downpipe might be usefull. I have seen Supra's using a 4" exhaust. What do you guys think? Add the difference between displacement per cylinder related to inches and a 2.4L has .6L per cylinder. The A2 has .5L per cylinder. .5L equals .75 inches per cylinder ( .75x4= 3" ). Well using the same theroy, .6L equals .90 inches per cylinder because .75 inches/.5L = .15 inches per .1L.
Add the .1L to each cylinder and you get a 2.4L. Now we have .90 inches per cylinder and .90 inches X 4 = 3.5 inches. A 3.5" downpipe or does bore and stroke factor into this somehow? This would be a relatively cheap experiment.
