My friend called Toda in Japan , and they said that they only have TODA As for the k20a... Not Spec B or C out yet.

They said that toda USA designed their own cams. My question is, do people know this? Because till today, I thought all toda products were made in Japan.

They specifically said

they wont have tecnical support for the toda A2 B and C for k20a because they didnt design it

Basically toda USA developed the B and C spec cams for the k20a2 and the ITBS about to be released. These cams, were not engineered by Toda Japan. Toda Japan is still working on these cams for the k20a.

It does make sense to me, because the 230 whp figures I was seeing with the toda head packages +flash did not make sense when people with header+ k pro and other mods were getting close to that on stock internals.

Mugen, Toda , Spoon in Japan are aware of the R & D that has to take place before these products hit the market.

doug from hondata knows about this usa/japan thing.
was at hondata seminar and he said this:

he says that toda japan got the toda a2 cams, (made for endurance racing, more broader torque and hp range)
toda usa designed another grinda nd is called the n2, (made for drag, more hp and torque in higher rpm range)
the toda japan b and c were (if i remeber correctly) stopped cos they wouldnt idle properly, like the b series killer vtec cams did. so they were meant to be redesigning them.
dunno what is happening now though

Cams are made in Japan and are designed over here. Toda is known to make custom cam grinds for Japanese race teams. B Series Toda spec D are also made by Toda and was designed by Erick's Racing.
