Here is the next kit coming from Hasport for the J-series. It will come be available for the EG, DC and EK and will allow you to close the hood. I know some people have been holding off because the wanted to be able to close the hood. Now you can have a choice. It should be out in about a month.

Pan clearance sucks, you would want to lower this car very much. The engine was also moved forward slightly so the axle inner joint could clear the subframe.

how does the car handle with that big engine moved forward?
is there anything for people with the old mount kit

Not sure yet, but I will let you guys know.

Not sure, the only part that is unchanged is the rear mount. Unless you have the new EK kit, then the left-hand bracket is also the same.

There we go. Nice to see the hood closed now without a hole in it...

Hasport. :up:

How much oil pan clearance is there on a car with stock suspension?
nice to see:up: Cant stand the cut hood look.

I'll have to see if I have a car with stock suspension. The clearance won't be great, the J32 is taller than a K or H by almost 2 inches. Not to mention the tall part, the intake manifold, is further forward than a K or H.

Yeah, I'm still hopeful someone will make a hood for the car. It seems like it would be a good idea.

no clearance:down::down:

ill rock my jdm muscle looking car with the motor popping out!!:p:p

maybe i got use to it but i loveeeeee the fact that i have ground clearance with my j. with my k, and being "lowered" it was a mission to keep oil pans from breaking. i always had a spare handy because it was always bound to happen. now with the j and being PRETTYYY low i haven't had a problem.

if the hood is closing im going to guess the pan/headers will be extremely low and sit lower than a k.
Looks alot better with the hood closed, tho I love franklins J swap! lol
this is good news. Debating going J... but I only have one means of transportation...

Has anyone performed a J swap in one day or a weekend?

If you have everything ready to go and NOTHING missing, this is JUST like a k-swap. so yes it can be done.
