this manifold swap actually works against the Si, reducing its torque. It weighs in with the same 160 hp, but with only 132 Ib-ft of torque at a higher 5000 rpm than its K20A3 sibling.

Question One:What we should do to have 143 lbs , the 10 lbs more, by replacing the manifold its work or not please!

I think he wants to put a type s manifold on it to replace his A3 one. If thats what your talking about you should put a type s head on it and then you'll have the manifold as well. But i'm confused as well..

Yeah sorry guys for my english traduction, i was just wondering why the rsx model the base 160 hp same as the SI 2002 + but the Si have 10 pounds of torque less of the same motor of the rsx base , its supposed the loss of 10 whp is due of the fact the manifold is a bottle neck for the SI, why??

Actually the manifolds are a little bit different.

The RSX type S uses a short-runner aluminum intake manifold, with velocity stacks cast into the ends of the runners. To make this complex shape, the manifold has to be cast with a large opening in the bottom of the plenum, which is capped off with a bolt-on plate.

The base RSX engine also uses a plastic dual-path intake manifold, with long intake runners for low-rpm operation and shorter runners for high rpm. Earlier dual-runner Honda manifolds used a set of butterfly valves in the short runners to keep them closed at low rpm. This left the butterfly valve shaft in the middle of the intake runner when they were open, restricting flow slightly. The new design uses a rotary valve that has no obstructions when it's open.
