Well, now im trying to address a problem i have with my throttle cable, it jsut seems too long and the pedal feel is very sloppy,

k20eg bent the gas pedal up to compensate for this so the t-body will open up asll the way,

but its almost impossible to heeltoe with the gas pedal 2 inches further out then the brake pedal.

so once again i called hasport today and they told me that i need to use a eg throttle cable to remedy this, because its shorter but will still work, when i talked to joe he said that they were going to try it out at ther shop and im going to call tomorrow to see if it solves this slight problem.

i already got qouted 15 for a new one from honda so its not a big deal, i just have to do something to make pedal feel better


as you can see by the pics the cable is as tight as it can be and still has too much play in it

I have an eg. But I simply used a throttle cable bracket from an EK SOHC and used spacers off the TB and it works awesome.

CANNOT BELIEVE HE BENT YOUR GAS PEDAL. I'LL NEVER GET OVER THAT ONE! :shock:

i have gsr and i might snag the cable off of it to test this out, ill call hasport tomorrow to see what cable they used on the mag ek in scc.

I've got a cheap ass associate that has his pedal like that and have driven the car before.. I hope you get that resolved soon.. cause I feel ya on not being able to heeltoe so easily I would try to fix that associate's pedal set up.. but he's too anal to spend any more money on his swap.. a stock ls in a civic coupe is just the beginning and he thinks he's done.. go figure

update, is that just the dx cable will fit, so after i get it ordered ill get some new pics up and see how it went,

along with a new pedal assembly

well the update is im pissed!

hasport said to try the single cam dx ek throttle cable, and i got it and it was too long as well, ended up fighting with it for about an hour and ended up shortening the end that connects to the pedal, and crimping it.

seems better now, but i still have this wierd spot where it gets stiff when the throttle body is half way open, has anyone else noticed this?

Did you try the EG cable?

mine fits almost perfect.

I used a sohc ek throttle cable bracket spaced from TB. works great.

I have an eg of course. It looks like the eg would work just fine on the ek also.

ill have to try that cable, both scc and honda tuning say to use a ep3 cable, so ill try that out as well,

the feel is better now but the thing thats driving my nuts is the rough spot when the t-body is open half way, have you experienced this too?

I know what you are talking about. I had a holley TB on gsr. It had a real bad sticking point also.

You can take off the TB and clean it see if that helps. sometimes its build up. Other wise it very well may be in your throttle cable.

yeah i think its in the cable, because if i just push on the tbody plate its totally smooth

If you have a Type R motor, use a 96 Civic DX cable.

If you have a Type S motor, use an EP cable.

If you have a K24 motor, use uh I forget...

brian, i have the k20a dc5r motor. the swap was done by k20eg and as sated in my first post in this thread i was not happy with the feeling of the pedal, so i ordered a single cam cable as i was told by joe to.

i put the cable on today and it was still too long to rebound and the end off the cable would end up rubbing the pedal bracket being all loose,

im really at a loss now as to what cable i can use, as i just tried the dx cable that i bought new from honda today, i even replaced the gas pedal assembly with a oem honda unit, as the old one was bent up to make the t-body open up all the way.

my ghetto cable failed the test, as it sticks sometimes leaving the tb partially open

i guess next ill try the ep3 cable

Hybrid Racing just finished up my Ek and they used my stock cable 96 cx.

This was with a Type S swap.

pics are needed. mine isnt a type s swap though, so apparently thats whats causing my problem.. i already tried the stock dx cable..
