So i'm buying a throttle body from hybrid, and i'm not sure what size to go with.. Right now my motor is N/A (so I think a 74mm would be nice), but I plan on putting a kit together and putting it on 7-12psi in a few months.. Would a 74mm tb be too much for it after boost? I dont want to have to buy two throttle bodies, if the 74 is a little much then I can just settle for the 70.. This is just a weekend fun car..
Set up is K24a4/k20
12.5:1 wiseco
Hbeam rods
supertech springs/retainers
RRC mani
1000cc id
E85

Not sure what manifold to get yet, but I do think i'll be getting a gt35r for it..

Well, i've had this chat with a few tuners already.. its been done many times before..
Besides, isn't running 10psi on a 12:1 setup simular to running 20psi on 9:1 comp?
Same amount of pressure on block, less stress on turbo right?

That, all being besides the point.. Is 74mm too much for a turbo set up on 10psi?

in theory, but off the shelf high compression pistons and rods are lighter and not ment to handle the extra stresses of a turbo

welcome to the k-series world where 3" exhaust is not enough for bolt-on all motor applications and intakes should be 3.5" minimum and tb minimum should be 70mm. So a 74mm should be good in my opinion. Remember that certain intake manifolds cannot bore out to 74mm without welding. They say that the RRC can bore out to 74mm without welding, but you can ask others for that...cough cough, Hybrid racing or others.
