My k24/k20 gt40r turbo build is just about done. I'm looking for a really good k-series tuner than knows what they are doing. I don't really trust anybody in GA with my car. So i'm thinking about taking it to FL somewhere.

Anybody with high hp k's had any good experiences with k-tuners in FL. If so let me know. thanks ~ Matt

You should really try John Wilson @ LHT Performance 727-344-1800 you can find his work in Honda Tuning. You can look him up on the web @www.lhtperformance.net or maybe .net just check him out you will not be disatisfied.
Fixed......

Also to the OP if you need some references, you can also ask Nos51, Acrite1999, qwk, VelocityTrends, NoahD.... They all have high hp cars tuned by mase... There are plenty more. I just named those that are in Florida alone that can vouch for Mase and his work...

I only decided to post this since it might benefit the OP.

I, myself, am looking for a tune. After looking through the tuner data base I am about 12 hrs away from the nearest reputable tuner. I noticed mase will travel to tune your car. I have two questions with this:

( and I will call these places but just want to know what to expect)

1. What is the process of having him come to a local dyno? I mean there is a tuner at a local dyno but I would not want him to do it. What happens then?

2. Do other tuners travel to tune?

In Florida I would suggest Mase. If you were willing to go to Texas I would suggest Jason Herrera (aka st00pid) or Tony Palo @ T1 Race Development. They are a few hours farther of a drive for you though. I think Mase is still stationed out of Jacksonville, FL which would be about a 6hr drive for you and Jason will be about a 9hr drive, tony would be a 10hr drive, lol.

I have alot of friends that were tuned by Mase and they all liked him.

Only problem with Mase is he is hard to get in touch with and especially hard to reach if you have a problem. He is a great tuner but he is often overseas working and when he is you have no way of contacting him if something does go wrong where as tony & jason are just a phone call away and they attend all the major Import race events which since you are going with a GT40 I am assuming that this will be largely a track car and its great to have your tuner at the track with you when you are running it to tweak things.

I personally use Jason and I don't regret it one bit. he is at every track event I attend and is always there to help you out if you just ask. He is a cool guy and will bend over backwards to help you out.

1. Then you bring your own tuner, pay him separately and only pay for the use of the dyno.

2. Almost any tuner will be willing to travel if you pay for their trip....

Kenny, aka 'turbogixxer' on here and Honda-Tech knows his stuff. Has tuned several K-series from basic k20a bolt on swaps, to nitrous setups, to a gt4088r built bottom end that was pumpin out about 550whp.

he also knows how to tune almost ALL engine management systems for all cars(kpro, AEM, Crome, megasquirt, Neptune, etc)........examples are LS-"X" V8s, supercharger setups, you name it he can tune it

he has traveled to Jamaica a few times himself to tune some Euro-R's (TSX in US) and i know one setup was on boost.

He lives in Boca Raton, FL but can prolly travel if it is worth his time

send me a PM if you need further contact info

I have used the same tuner for several years now.

He is located in Miami florida and the shop is called JDM - it just happens to be his initials and motorsports - dont think ricer :)

He is a Hondata dealer and tunes on a dynodynamics load dyno.

hes tuned very mild to very wild - latest project was a s2k that put down over 400lbs of torque... the owner does not want to let out how much HP :)

pm me if you would like the info.

thanks,
Phil

I have looked at a K Pro map of his, you are better off going to a different tuner.

Kenny @ Turbogixxer Tunning and Fred @ HPC are the best in FL in my opinion.

I am happy where I am at... I haven't seen anyone else's work that I could rave about... I had a mase tune and was not happy with it.
