ok sorry for being a thread whore, thats not what i am trying to be, but i have been reading a lot on this board, and have not seen any one that has been successful on trying to get a set of ITB's to fit under their hood in a hybrid body(meaning dc2, eg6, or ek9). so when i say streetable, my main concern is fitment issues,is there a manufacturer that makes a set that will fit under the hood of a hybrid body?

cheers,
david

It seems that the ITB's run much better on the kseries. Any reason to this Nikos?
Well, 2 main reasons are:

1) Stock k series heads flow as good as a mild ported b series heads. So that helps for sure.

2) The ITBS are facing forward, thus sucking in fresh cold air instead of the bseries ITBS that had to use the already heated air

Well, hondata K pro software got updated to offer more ITB friendly MAP/TPS tuning tools. The main problem from what I understand was that it is hard to be able to monitor individual cylinder air coming in. Only MOTEC offers such a function. Therefore an average air flow measurement is taken and then divided by 4 etc... This can cause the crazy idle surges etc... There are also tricks by using a vaccum on each horn like TEAM PACMAN did on their K20A CRX.

As far as the problems you are refering to, they could be attributed to many different factors... Personally, I realise that ITBS are not meant to be street driven unless you know exactly how to take care of them.

I do remember reading about the testing you guys did. What really impressed me back then was the fact that ITBS would "wake up" when big cams were used with 40whp gains and make minimal power with stock cams.

There was alot of luck with the setup. My buds Kendall and Tony got their personal setup running with a programmed ecu. No AFC at the time, and no standalone style management. It was very impressive, and the study taught me alot about it.

Depending on which platfom i take to go Kseries (either buy a swap or get a RSX) i am thinking of developing a set to sell for stunn co. I want to have some actual parts, not just clothing coming out of stunn co. 06 will show us more.

BTW, how many people have made any Homemade setups?

The only problem with homemade setups is there isn't a TB big enough for a 2.0.

The GSXR 1300 is only 45mm I think...

no word on the price of the haywards?
you need to contact them but I think they go for around 2300 for the 50mm , 2500 for the 52 and like 3000 for the 54mm. Prices do not include injectors but they are made to work with bosch injectors

i ran my ITBS on the street everyday in LA traffic, no problems at all...... never had a problem with cops, but then again, i coul dhave been really really lucky thast all....... my car would almost over heat if i get stuck in traffic since the throttle bodies idle a little bit higher than usual.... then again, i had a stock radiator.

the motor wold idle around 2k RPM, but if you got a windy day blowing towards your throttle bodies, your RPM will move around from 2k-3.5k rpm.. hahahaa, i used Hondata K-Pro during the time.. worked outerfectly for a street car..

You think the sticky TWM's had anything to do with the high idle?

no, it had nothign to do with the stickiness of the TWM.... the TWM's do not have any stickiness to them, the thing with those throttle bodies is that when people dont use the right throttle bracket hole on the bracket on the throttle bodies, it keeps the cable TOO tight, which makes it seem like its sticky, when it really isnt. You have to use the second set of holes on the bracket, the ones that have the ALLEn key screw bolts. I used a GSR throttle cable for this setup....... For example, i would be stuck in traffic, sitting there idling..... you can feel a gush of wind go by, and hten the motor starts to rev up by itself for an added 1000-1500 extra RPM's... no biggie, it just might overheat if you were to use a stock radiator like me if it sat for a long time.

katman- I ran EMS with ITB on my old ITR, is it me or what, but I cannot tune it with TPS. I use MAp to tune it.

Little about my ITB- I pretty much took a AE111 ITB system, made CNC flanges, and tubes to look all professional. I also use toyota TPS sensor. It works just fine.

Is probably me, but Tuning with MAP is pretty hard lol..
