you can make the S just as good/fast as an R swap, especially if you find a 2005 S engine. Only thing you miss out on is the LSD; and the 4.7 final drive (if you don't find an '05 type-S which have the 4.7 fd).

The question you should be asking yourself is 'do I want LSD?'. If you want LSD, get the R, if not, save some $$ and go with the S. Not only do you need to getta Kpro, but also a bolt-in kit, a good header, & PnP wire harness, most of which you can get faster because of the money you'd save on going with the S swap, depending on how much $$$ you have saved up for the overall swap..

I really dont want to put a quaife lsd in later down the road.
Do the r cams not make that much difference over the s cams?
Is a quaife lsd alot better than the factory r lsd?

I will be racing this car alot this year (TRACK ON SLICKS)

Anyone know if the Type S 05 tranny comes w/ the "multiple synchronizing cones for all gears, including a triple-cone synchronizer in 1st and 2nd gears and a double-cone synchronizer in 3rd through 6th gears" like the R?

I think if your going to get series about racing your car to buy the TypeS since by the time you do cams, and the LSD and then work the inside you will have wasted the etxra money on buying the R
If you intend to keep it stock internals then buy the Type R..

On slicks you will kill the factory LSD and most CHEAP axle kits..

I bought the S just for the reason I was going to build the whole motor....Im gonna get individuals. get better cams and valvetrain, and get bigger pistons or block !! tranny wise I want to get an ATS fd and a Quaife...But thats cuz I wanna build it.

Just as someone stated earlier If you plan on staying stock then just get the R....

piston difference stock is .5 compression ooooohhhh wow!! :D

the choice is yours...

Hey Thanks for all the info.

Type-s is what I will buy.
Also A quaife lsd and install it with the swap.

I am Wanting high 11s 1/4 pump gas

Last crx went 11.71 at 117mph all mota 2.0L gsr built.

What is a nice race/street header for the eg k swap?

Okay is the intake manifold and throttle bodys the same or not?

Which intake is easier to cut open and port ( like the r manifold for the b 16-head).

Were can i find comparable information on all k series motors ??
Like bore, stroke, compression height, cylinder head port volumes and more.
