So i guess this is my first review. I'm basing this review on past tires and oem wheels i've used. Note that i do not have an LSD. First, the wheels: Going from 15.5 lb. (give or take) wheels to 9.5 lb. wheels makes a huge difference imo if you're a spirited driver. It is said that for every 1 lb. of unsprung weight you lose it is the equivalent of taking 10 lbs. of dead weight off the car. Some say it's 20 but i'm not sure which is true.
However I DID notice an acceleration increase. Especially in the first 3 gears. But what really made it worth the purchase was how it handled bumps, rough patches, or just generally bad roads. It's so much smoother now. I guess that's due to the wheel going up and down faster because it's lighter. In the end, i believe this is THE best wheel for the money. They're only 180 a piece, semi-forged, and 9.5 lbs?! Almost too good to be true. 10/10 highly recommended.

Second, the tires. They are BFGoodrich G-Force Sport Comp 2's. I was formerly using Kuhmo ASX's 205/5-/15. I've used many performance tires from Pirelli's, to Yokohama's, to Bridgestone, etc. etc. I was looking for the highest performance tire that WASN'T a summer tire. Trust me i've tried using summer tires all year round (RE-11's) and in the winter those tires turned into rocks in really cold weather. These Sport-Comp 2's obliterate the Kuhmo's in every way even with the smaller width.
Turn-in is sharper, they grip better (I'm making 164 ft/lbs. The Kuhmo's would roast 2nd gear even when they were new, the Sport Comp 2's grip all the way), and most of all they are far far better in the rain which i believe is due to something called silica and the sidewalls. Not sure what silica is but it's certainly helpful. Lastly, they are a good looking tire! So for now i'll give them a 10/10. At the end of the summer (if they last that long) i'll bump this thread and give an update on how they hold up over time. Hope this review was helpful. -Jeff A

195/50/15 unfortunately because they weren't available in 205's. They were 73 a piece from Tirerack plus shipping which i thought was a good price.

who do think the comp 2 compare to the kdw ??? for auto crossing and track days??
Here's a quote from a magazine that reviewed them in case you don't feel like reading the whole article, but i'll include it anyways. My friend had kdw's but they were on a completely different car so i can't comment. I CAN comment that these are far far better tires in the wet than the ASX's.

"A new Silica infused “Comp-2″ tread compound has more grip than ever but with a higher tread wear rating. We have always thought lower tread wear means better grip, but that isn’t necessarily the case anymore. Every test we ran was against a tire that had a lower tread wear rating, and none of them stuck as well as the BFGs. The tread of the G-Force Sport is stable, proven, and good looking as well, but the big thing is BFGoodrich’s Performance Racing Core (PRC). Basically, it’s the chassis of this thing. new belt designs that roll over the side of the shoulder make the tire more stable by keeping the contact patch more consistent, and a tear drop shaped g-Control sidewall insert makes the sidewall much firmer laterally, while still letting it compress nice so you don’t feel every single gap in the road."

thanks for the link but this say it all

"With drivers like Kyle Tucker, Carl Nadeau, and Terry Earwood, just to name a few, the talent pool was pretty deep at this event. There were four events, and four teams, so our team included KJ Jones from 5.0 Mustang, Matt Farah from The Smoking Tire, Joe Gearin from Grassroots Motorsports, Rob Einaudi from Car Domain and Antonio Alvendia from Motor Mavens. After introductions and dinner at the Mission Inn in Riverside on Tuesday night, we hit the track bright and early on Wednesday morning. After a brief introduction to the tire, it’s new technology, and specs in comparison to its leading competitors, as well as BFG’s venerable KDW tire, we were off to the races so to speak. The new BFG G-Force Sport Comp-2 is the latest Ultra High Performance tire from BFG. It is their top of the line tire, even above the KDW. After talking to Kyle Tucker, Brian Finch, Bill Howell, and Jason Childress, it is apparent that this tire is going to take over the Pro Touring world. They aren’t available in the super huge sizes yet but, for the masses, they have you covered."

i hate to say it but the kdw is on it way out or will be geting a update

I'll counter the wheels with one big note for people:

the 15" wheel is more like a 14" with a stretched lip.
If you want to fit "type-R" or most other 11" brakes as 15s will clear, these will NOT. so if you have 11.1" brakes, dont go for the regular 15s, go with 16s. If you have 10.3" brakes, check first that 14s would fit. I've had several brake fitting issues.

There is a 14" volk that clears 11.1" brakes, but this wheel requires a 16" for em, so consider going with a bigger size if you are gonna track race and want bigger brakes.
