that really depends on what you do.

IMO Clutch Type LSDs are the best for road racing, and Ray @ Kaaz is extremly helpful, and REALLY knows what he is doing. Only downside is they do wear out (the disks) and need to be rebuilt. It isn't that frequent from my experience, and the performance is much better so it is worth it IMO.

So for Road Racing Kaaz is the best.

Carbonetic- I have a few people have issues with these, and they didn't get much help from the company.

Quafie- Should be good for street use, but i don't like them for road racing. They stop working when you use the curbs, and that isn't a good thing.

Mfactory- A HC racer runs one and i think he was happy with. Only put one race on it though.

Wavetrac- The history of the company, and how it came to produce the product is out there on the net. IIRC they used to be the NA supplier of Quafie. Over on HT a rep from the company came on there and was "selling the product". He didn't answer any of the technical question, and just responded with "it just does its great our customers LOVE IT". So that wasn't promising and i know of a fellow racer who was going to purchase one but after he saw that he went with something else.

it all depends on what you are using it for basically. some are set up for street, some for drag racing and some for auto-x. i would go with wavetrac for overall performance and price if i didn't get a 06+ si diff for free.

I run the MFactory (D Series, but works the same as all the other fitments). Couldn't be happier with it except for when I lift a front wheel which I did several times at Autobahn last month (though I was hitting the gators pretty hard trying out different lines).

Been circuit racing the wavetrac for around 12 months now - all is well, very consistent and happy with it.

However it would be nice if it came from the factory with a more aggressive carbon-fiber biasing plate; it still seems to want to smoke the inner wheel when rolling onto the throttle early in long sweeping high speed turns. This is less evident during lower speeds.

Ideally Autotech Driveline (wavetrac) should offer some type of biasing plate dependent on application - as it's difficult for your average enthusiast to fork out the coin to remove the LSD on each occasion to find the right setup.

ive had carbonetic, quaife and oem lsd's

best bang for buck is the oem lsd

between the carbonetic and quaife it all depends on what you want from the car, once the trans fluid warmed up the carbonetic was awesome, but for a daily driver id recommend the quaife as it has less worries, can use oem fluid and no real maintenance

For my own have tested few LSD, KAAZ,OS Giken,Cusco, Carbonetic(ATS&Across),Spoon,Mugen,Rigid,JS racing, choosing LSD its depend which you going to use and understand what your car need. 1 or 1.5 way will suite for most our FF car

my self will suggest 1.5 way if give some engine braking on down shift even you use it on road racing or circuit racing if for drag racing ,1 way will the best if will not slow your up shift time

different brand have different design such like clutch type, metal type or helical, most of helical type was 1 way and close for OEM and able handle higher torque

For clutch type its can rebuilt and a bit higher maintenance after the clutch worn but its could last up to 50k miles depend how you use it and its more suitable for DD, road racing , endurance race

Metal type will have lots klac" klac" sound where most ppl don't like it and its good for drag racing, time attack cause its could handle higher wheel torque but its generate lots of heat to gear oil

its just me 2 cents and my poor english hope you guys don't mind

All helical LSD's are 1-way.

Clutch type isn't good for drag racing, the plates will break easily with power (even stock power on slicks).

Whether you choose 1way or 1.5 way when using a clutch type depends on how the car is setup and how you drive it.
