whats the pro and cons of the k20 swap that you guys have experinced? im planing to swap a k20r in my 98 itr... just wanted to know what you guys think.. thanks in advance!! chris......
Pros:

Great all motor power without any bolt on parts other than header and k pro.

Great gas mileage

Motor is no more than 2 years old

Looks great, unique etc...

6 speed LSD tranny

Most likely you will get your money back if you decide to sell it , unlike with the b/h series.

Cons: Need special parts so cost is higher compared to B series.

The End

Basically, this is not a swap for everyone. It is not direct drop in and plug and play. You need to understand what is needed, know your choices, and get what is best for you.

thanks for your 2 cents! what ecu do you have to run to power the k20? the stock ecu? or the kpro i have a 98 itr..
You can run the K20a (type R) or a Hondata Kpro.
so theres no way to run the factory ecu from the k20r? i thought people did...hmm how much does hondata and kpro run? i wanted to use the factory ecu to try and make it califorina smog legal....thanks hybrid racing for your info....!!

In order to use the stock ecu you will need to have the Key, Immobilizer and ECU from the same donor car. You could also have honda/acura program them to match. You will then need to wire the entire immobilizer system into your chassis.

The Kpro list for $1000 with a core. We currently have them for $900.00 plus shipping.

I also have one Type R ecu for sale.

it would be cheaper and better in the long run to get Kpro. that way when you want to tune the motor later you already have a standalone
