How much power and torque does everyone have out of there K20A conversions????
I currently have around 200whp and 172ft lb on a Dynapac hub dyno
this is out of a stock motor. It worked out to be 24whp more than a stock DC5R dyno'd straight before it.
We had a set of PRO 1 4-1 RSX headers cut to fit with a 3" collector and half an exhaust, no P/S or A/C and a pod filter
And an aftermarket comp, that doesnt allow for the VTC.
The car was running 104 octane fuel
Since it has been dyno'd we have installed a hondata heatshield gasket, made up to different exhaust's one 2 1/4" and one 2 1/2" to try on the dyno to see what works the best.

I just redynoed the silver hatch and we got 204 whp with the comptech unit a nice jump from the last dynosession of 189 whp. All we did was add an O2 sim for the secondary and cleared the cells. We are going to redyno with the K20EG ver 1.0 header later this week

Well yesterday, the local dyno shop ran up there first DC5R with a K-PRO computer in it, they got 205whp on a completely stock car, stock filter, exhaust etc..
Right on

The 04 dynojet im using checks in 5-7hp less on the average in comparison with other chassis dynoes

Well today I ran my car at the strip again and managed a PB time of 12.43 @ 176.46 which I think is the result of more driving time and the 2 1/2" exhaust that we installed.. and a hondata heat sheild gasket..
Today's best trap speed was 177kmh or 111mph

yip thats right, we may have closer to 220whp now, plus I think the DC5R LSD crapped itself, I couldnt launch over 7500rpm cause one wheel wouldnt spin for about the first 0.5 seconds which almost put me into the wall a couple of times...
But that was the last race for the season, the cars going back to the shop to lose another 250-300lbs and gain another 10-30whp before its next meeting, plus a new LSD

That is some great news....

A few more questions... Why disable the VTC?

Also what kind of tires? Turbo in the future? Nitrous?

What ECU? Are you using the K pro?

Any pics of the car?

Thanks for keeping us updated,

Nikos

PS I have a relative that works in New Zealand;s Whangarei Visitors Bureau :)

OK from the top of the list
I am running a New Zealand made LINK COMPUTER which doesnt have the facilities to run the VTC in the current model we are running, but they are developing one at the moment which should be released to us around mid may which will be able to tune the VTC properly.

I am currently running HOOSIER 24.5-9-13 slicks

No plan for a turbo or NOS, I will be doing a full motor build at the end of next season, but hope to run mid 11's on a stock motor.

I do have pics if someone has an Email I can send them to I will email them to you to host

I am planning to run a solid axle rear and when that goes in our $100 shocks will be replaced with something that will work better and some 900lb springs. Currently I'm running non adjustable Blisteins and 750lb springs

Sounds great man! Hope to see you running 11's too.

Was this in an EG or EK, I looked for it, but never found what chassis?

Do you think it made a difference???
My Toda VTC cams have, even if its just purely on the tune ablity on the exhaust cam, but since I dont run a computewr that allows VTC control the adjustment on the inlet cam will be a huge gain. Personally for me I expect to see a 20-30whp gain on my set-up with the VTC killer cam gears.. but I will post up my old and new dyno plots on the same sheet when the dyno gets done... fingers crossed I get close to the 250whp mark.
