Bought a new Skunk2 Inlet manifold for my K-engine (no fake!). Sadly Skunk2 had no quality-check before delivery, so the inlet manifold was leaking at the flange to the thermostat housing -> missing cooling liquid -> steam bubbles in the blocke -> head gasket failure etc.
Skunk2 cancelled my questions in their "technical customer service", no possibility to get in contact with them.
We solved the problem now with a new "quality-flange".
Last time i bought rubbish Skunk2 products. All the other customers should make the quality check for themselfs.

Regards
Peter

Yes i did, but no answer :(
Continue to call and harass them an email them daily, get lots of evidence for your claim. I'm personally not surprised with any skunk2 failure or design flaws, but if they are gonna continue to make shite products with design defects like needing run there cam gears cause there cams are made a little off center or IM flange is not true or correctly cast they should man up and take these parts and not sell them and compensate ppl for there flaws. I hate seeing things like this cause we the customer spend or hard earned money buying there product and get junk, it's sad. GL

What do you want to see???
We dismounted the loose flange cut a thread in the inlet manifold and screwed a dash flange inside - now its ok, as it stands the last raceweekend without problem. Hope its the last time i have problems, as there are more flanges in the manifold.
I´m angry as
nobody pays for
- dismounting the whole engine out of the car
- bring the engine to our tuner
- dismount cylinderhead
- buy a new headgasket
- buy dash, machining the inlet manifold
- reassamble the cylinderhead
- put the engine back in the car (lotus elise)
parts only 200 Dollars
but 23 hrs of work
all together at least $ 2500,- cost for me
So why Skunk2 takes an additional $ 200,- more for their inlet manifold and spend it for quality issues. Would be cheaper for everyone - or?

regard
Peter

PS: This is the reason i drive Porsche in everyday use, because they take more money, but deliver really quality!

I don't run skunk2....well I have one part and I'm itching to get rid of it...I have an exhaust can....but I would NEVER NEVER buy thier intake manifold or even THINK about purchasing thier cams. Skunk2 USED to be quality...now it has all gone down hill...as a company they suck balls...they used to just be into hondas...when they started being more about money and trying to flood the market with parts for almost all cars, thats when they really began to dwindle..they would just rather make a dollar than give a crap about the person who bought their crap

The best Skunk2 product that i can vouch for is their 440 grams shift knob
You can't screw up a shift knob....can you?

Otherwise post pics and please no bashing.

Which pictures do you want to see????
I do not need pictures for witness, as i do not get any refund or any new product from Skunk2. I repaired evreything and buyed all necessary parts for myself and paid everything from my pocket.
And as i see I´m not the only one who suffered from poor Skunk2 quality.

So the benefit for the k20org members is, that they recheck products from Skunk2 before installing and maybe can avoid greater damage and costs.

i don´t really think Skunk2 will change their minds just because some of their customers suffered because of their poor quality standards. They not even think to answer to a customer who has problems because of them.
Try their technical support on their homepage - you have a serious problem you are cancelled. I had problems with other tuningproducts too, but these companys tried to solve the problem or at least say "shit happened - sorry"

If it was leaking coolant that bad, would you not have spotted this when bleeding the cooling system after installing the intake? I'm sorry but instead of bashing skunk 2 of their product, why not blame yourself for not double checking the work? A simple pressure test would've prevented this. This is not a perfect world, skunk 2 has had some quality issues. I always double check my work when installing skunk2 products.

In Austria we have a very differnet point of view of Quality. Here the company that sells the product checks the quality of the product before it leaves the factory.

Anyway i kicked the Skunk2 part out of the car and changed to ITB again.
Hope it would be the only poor US-made part in my car:(

We have the same definition here in the U.S., some muppets just don't get it though.

We call them fanbois.
