We now have OBD2 connector assemblies for those with DIY wiring. Comes with necessary wires already populated in the connector. Only 3 wires needed to operate your OBD2 device!

Pin 4 = Ground (Black wire)
Pin 7 = K-Line (Blue wire)
Pin 16 = Battery (Red wire)

For connecting to a 2002~2004 Type-S ECU, then you should connect to the ECU wires as follows...

Black wire - connect to ECU wire A23 or A24
Red wire - connect to ECU wire A2 or A3
Blue wire - connect to ECU wire E23

Will this pass emission testing? not visual inspection just obd2 scan port. How many wires are there in the stock 2001 dc2 obd port?

An OBD2 port will enable the emissions testing. You will likely need a catalyst to actually pass the testing though. The OBD2 connection is intended to be used for emissions testing, which will use standard OBD2 functionality. Early Honda vehicles use a single wire (K-Line) for communication. The factory DC2 OBD2 port may have other wires other than power, ground and K-Line, but they aren't used for emissions testing.
