Not too difficult. I will require welding for the pass side mount. A lift will make the swap 100x easier as well. Other than that it is pretty straight forward as most parts required are easily ordered online.

Aside from the motor/trans set with harness and ecu you will need:
the mounts
axles
wiring conversion harness
header
fuel system (fpr, rail, hoses)
K-pro or AEM EMS
3. how much am i looking to spend?
Adding up the parts above can give you a snapshot, but as always is the case with modifying a car the price of the parts reflects the quality. You can spend as little as 3000 for used/mediocre parts or upwards of 8000 for new/stronger/custom pieces.
4. will the wife be able to drive it?LOL
Is she able to drive your AWD rexy? The power/weight distro the motor gives the shorter wheelbase CRX chassis as a FWD vehicle can easily get her in trouble (got me in trouble a couple times  ) But if she takes it easy I don't see why not :)

Fun is an understatement when describing the K-swap'd CRX. I highly recommend upgrading the brakes and suspension (more money to figure in your swap budget) prior to swapping the motor. One of the drawbacks/benefits of using a 20 year old chassis. Also, a good LSD is the best mod you can do to the K20 in the CRX, the motor has plenty of power in stock form for most people. Getting it to the ground is paramount before you go looking to add more.
