Someone on honda tech posted that they killed a cobra with a k20a R with toda head. I guess it depends on the kind of race and the car... Your coupe might be heavy?

A race is a race so nothing can gurantee that you or him will win. There have been 10 sec. cars that beat 9 sec. cars on the street because they hooked better off the line. To even consider giving that guy a run I would drop a k20 in and turbocharge the biatch. Of course this sounds simple but then you have to think about: Motor work (lots), tires, traction bars, suspension, fuel, gauges, fuel lines, fuel pump....should I go on???? Well you get the idea, a ton of cash. There was a video on HT that had a turbocharged ek (not sure what motor0 vs a 10.74 Viper on a third gear roll on race. The Ek helld him pretty good and then the viper started to slowly pull on him. Now if the race would had been from a dead stop I am sure the outcome would had been very different.

so i would guess ... near 500 flywheel.... damn thats over 100 hp over stock with just cai/chip/exhaust....you would think ford would of released some more of that power from the factory if it is true that he is makin over 450 wheel .... when you race him ask him how getting 10 mpg feels... respectfully. Nothin but respect for fords/chevy's though. Those blowncobras sound mean.

although the Cobra do have the independant rear suspnsion, where as the rest of the stangs are all solid axles. I remember a kid that lives near me tried to tell me his cobra was a track car. I was like "Ya I bet that things is pretty good in a straight line". He responded by telling me no I mean a road track. I just kinda laghed at him, and told him any time he wants to go out to Willow (local So-cal road course) I will show him whats up with my little single cam monster (was stock, the motor that is, thats probly part of the reason it blew up). he also had a brand new set of Drag Radials in his back seats...

it'll be kinda hard to be a cobra but its been done before. Take a k20 sleeve it and make it bullet proof then run forged internal and boost the crap out of it
