Honda has released a new engine (or engine code at least) for the 2005 Acura RSX Type-S. The new engine is called the K20z1. It is almost the same as the K20a from the Japanese Integra Type-R minus the dual valve springs and higher compression pistons. It shares the same camshafts and intake manifold. The pistons remain the same as the K20a2. The engine produces 210hp @ 7800rpm and 143lbs torque @ 7000rpm. :)

When the new engine hits vtec, it is a lot more noticable than that of the K20a2. It DOES pull harder!

Also Honda has taken the gear ratio from the Japanese Type-R and blessed us with it. However we are still missing the LSD. :(

the ECU is completely different tho - different mappings, pinouts, engineered differently

apparently hondata has been unable to crack the new ECU (unable to manipulate like current K-series ecu's) so no hondata or k-pro (yet )

Of course if you put it in your Civic, you just use the old ECU.
