My guess is that it's receiving a minor performance upgrade becuase Honda will be releasing a Civic Type R some time over the next 10 months. The new CTR should have the same engine that is in the current Type S. It would hurt sales to have the Civic with the same performance as the RSX Type S.

It makes sense from a marketing standpoint.

True if they do release the CTR it'll definately hurt the rsx-s .. so why not just release the dc5-R and skip that CTR all together? :?:
The RSX-S will still be faster.

Because the Civic sales need help not the RSX sales. But they don't want to boost Civic sales at the expense of RSX sales.

it all makes perfect marketing sense to not kill off a good thing and boost up something thats not doing well at the same time.. honda's marketing team isnt stupid.. they know what they're doing.. otherwise they wouldnt be selling cars like they do.
