please gimme comments on what you think it would be and how time consuming it can be to swap a motor from a h22a motor to a tsx k24 motor with its tranny:cool:

i know i have to purchase

axles
ecu
harness
motor
tranny
hasport mounts
full coilover kit

what else do you guys think i should take into consideration... becuase that is the 1st thing i wanna do to my prelude before i move on to the exterior... and interior...:S

please comments

recent pics of my ride..:p

I'm not that knowledgeable of the preludes mobman but doesn't hasport just make bbk1 kits? 92-96 preludes? what year is yours?

If the mounts do work then i would worry about a header being built while you are waiting for everything to be done. order the custom header after the engine is dropped in. if you have to wait, then you might as well use the time wisely. stage 2 axles can be made no problem. build the block before you install it as well. add a nice k20 head and that thing will be a beast.:up::up:

there's a lot of things to deal with but it's always easier to figure out once the motor is actually in the car. rad, wires, hoses, lines, etc are simple and alot easier to visualize with a mounted engine.

i thought ray told you they wouldn't fit already mobman? lol i don't think they will work. I don't own a prelude nor have i ever tried putting the bbk1 kit in the 5th gen but if hasport gave a specific gen for the kit then there's a definite reason why. i would call them and ask if there's a particular way to make them work or do you have to fab up your own mounts. you may be able to get another company to come out with a custom set for you if you ask around but it won't be cheap.

there was one prelude that i know of with the k24 in their model like yours and the car wound up getting wrecked. dunno the guy but the picts of it are on the net so it's definitely possible and the swap looked clean.

i believe only hasport. this is what i'd do man. you see a pict of the pass. mount in the last image i believe. ask hasport for a pict of their bbk1 mount kit to see if he used their mounts. that right there will tell you whether or not he fabbed up his own. next you see the logo RPM in one of the picts and on one of the cars so that's obviously the name of the shop. the licence plate says New York on it so that's just a matter of lookin for a shop by that name in the nyc. you can even go so far as to try to find the guy who Andreas who took the picts and ask him as well. I am pretty sure he is on hondatech.

the clues to gettin it done are there, i ain't doin the leg work though lol.

also driveshaft shop is in the engine bay so maybe they know the specs on the build. im sure the they may have asked what mounts he used or maybe the guy bs'd with someone from DSS and told them how he did it.

p.s. DSS will not give out his number to you to call if that's what you thinkin lol.

the name of the shop is rpm they are located in queens new york. from what i remember reading the cost was really high an not worth it. he had an k20a2 swap in there. i dont think that you would be able to fit a k24 under the hood. go to www.preludepower.com they have more pics of that same car and more info. good luck bro. also the bbk1 mounts wont fit in a bb6 i wanted to do the same thing when i had mines. so i sold it an got an ep3.
