yeah so i have my friends blown second gear tranny.. i need to know what part number it is for these to gears.. here are the pics.. thanks in advance

i know i need the main shaft but do i need the whole gear set? or can i get away with just buying that one gear?

Its up to you, how do the synchros and selector look? Do you plan to open the tranny again in 5k miles to replace everything again? You can replace the gear now sure, but if your other parts are worn it will make that new 2nd gear get chewed up quick.

Basically, Just replace the whole set.

NP. While you have the case open i would replace the Input shaft bearing for preventitive maintance as well. :up:

and make sure that when those teeth got ripped off, the fragments didnt damage the diff bearings and such.

Make sure all the parts are super clean.
Inspect every part, especially all the gears. Replace anything that is suspect.
make sure the passages down the center of the shafts have no debris and make sure all the little hole in the shafts are clear.
Replace the bearings in 3,4,5 with the bearings from the 06 SI (psst... they are better)
Also, I have a 1st and second gear set available.
