It's a finger ... oh wait, you're pointing at the reverse lock out solenoid. It is activated by the ECU at ~20 mph to block the reverse plane from the transmission, and stop you mis-shifting 4th to 5th. PRA, PRB, PRC and PRD ECUs support the reverse lock out, PNF and PND ECUs don't have the circuitry to drive the solenoid. For an engine swap the wiring is taken care of inside the engine harness and there's not really anything special you need to do to make it work, apart from using the right ECU as per above.

See the problem is right where my finger is pointing, the connection got broken off somehow, so now i guess i gotta go get a new one.

Reverse lock-out is good. :up: I have seen the aftermath of an engine after a fifth gear to second gear drop. The results are not pretty. Imagine third gear topped out to reverse. That just sounds ugly. I will try to post the pics of distruction, never posted a pic before so bare with me.
