My little project- 93 Civic DX

So I picked up my hatch almost 3 years ago. Have done what seems like a crap load of work to it but it is still nowhere near the type of build that i have seen on here. Also still have yet to drive it but here is its transition so far.

How i got it.

Stripping it down

Used a heat gun and scrapper

Then some Simple Green and a few other chemicals mixed seemed to eat the rest of it off

Doing some body work to get the dent out of the side

Going to the audio shop to get some better sound deadening installed

Motors out

Some primer

Throwing some paint down. Arctic Frost Pearl from the TSX

Starting to get it back together

Close to running(just with a d15/d16y8)

Since i have recently totaled out my 05 RSX Type S, it will now be the donor car for my hatch. Which is what has led me to this site. :)

I plan on doing the swap sometime in the spring and just browsing and getting my ducks in a row before i tear the Civic back down. Besides, the Civic will have to get me through the winter so i can get the other car put back up in the garage.

Looks good man. All you have to do is swap the motor in now. This gives you time to get everything you need and want.

have you decided if your going with kpro? if not you will need the immoblizer unit that k-tuned or hybrid sells. along with your stock ecu from your rsx.

dont forget a swap harness too. sparkks has a great deal on them right now.

Well, Had this car running for maybe a total of 4 week and it got a bad rod knock under load. So it went back in the garage and I pulled the crappy D-series out. Sadly it has just continued to sit as I started back to school and my hours at work were severely cut.

You can see from my other thread that my plans of using the RSX as my donor car has also changed. I decided I liked driving it too much to use it as a parts car.

So, the Civic will continue to sit until I finish school in a few more years. Current plan is a stock k24 swap with bolt on goodies. Want to start with a Jackson Racing or CT SC setup and when I outgrow that move it to the RSX and build a Rotrex setup for the Civic. Also, going to tear the car completely down again and do everything the way it should of been done before.

If anyone can help, what I have been considering is:
K24
05-06 RSX Type S Trans
05-06 RSX Type S Wiring Harness
05-06 RSX Type S Haltech ECU

Reason I would like to go with that setup is because the Haltech can be changed between that(if it works) and my RSX. Or I could buy another for the RSX and only have to learn 1 tuning program to tune both cars. Plus Haltech is cheaper than having to buy a 02-04 ECU + Kpro, O2 Sensor and harness. Plus there is a Authorized Haltech Distributor and tuner within a few hours of me. But other than maybe a few sensors I dont see how it wouldnt work. Anyone think differently?

This may get revived very soon. Depending on what I decide on my RSX It will be getting swapped probably sometime next year. (I am slow with stuff). I will be using the rest of this year paying off some school debt(graduated a few weeks ago, w00t!) and getting parts together for the swap.

My parts list has also changed from my post above.

Things I already have from the RSX:
Engine
Transmission
Axles
Engine Harness
Charge Harness
Civic Throttle Cable
Skunk2 Black series oil cap
Haltech Platinum Pro Plug-in
RBC Intake manifold
Karcepts TB Spacer/adapter/thermal gasket
Thermal IM Gasket
New Clutch Master and Slave
Honda Spark Plug cover
K-Tuned Shifter cables w/ trans bracket
K-Tuned billet TPS

I also have a Buddy Club Short Shifter but I believe I would rather spend the extra and buy one of the K-tuned or Hybrid no-cut shifter.

Current list of what I want:
Hasport mounts u70a
Karcepts Cruise control delete kit
K-tuned A/C and P/S removal
Hybrid Racing Cooling package (1/2 size Radiator, Bracket, Hose kit, Clamps, Fans, Fan Switch, Temp Sensor)
K-tuned Clutch line conversion kit
Hybrid Racing intake
Hybrid Racing ground kit
K-tuned Prefit heater hoses
K-tuned Brake booster line kit
K-tuned Shifter (no cut)
header undecided
Wire-worx interior harness
Wire-worx Engine Harness (not needed, but wanted)
Walbro 255lph fuel pump + install kit
Hybrid Racing fuel line tuck kit (rail, lines, fpr, filter, guage black)
karcepts hubs

I am in the process of ordering the new Hubs from Karcepts and may have found a deal on PIC coilovers.

ITS FINALLY ABOUT TO HAPPEN!!!!!!!

Around Black Friday I took advantage of Hybrid Racing and ordered a good amount of parts.

Black Fuel rail and tucked lines
Full size radiator with 2 fans
Swap hoses
Fuel pressure regulator and guage
Intake
Ground kit

JHPUSA also had a bundle with Hasport Mounts and the Skunk2 Alpha header. So I had to pick that up.

Then a couple days ago decided to pick up a HR 70mm tb since they were $100 off.

Pretty much down to a handful of items that are necessary for the swap now.

On the RSX this is coming from.....It was wrecked but I had decided to rebuild it. Drove it for awhile and then a deer hit it.....so its back to being a donor car.

Messed around with the RSX some today and got it ready to pull, everything is disconnected and removed. Just have to take the bolts out of the mounts and its ready to go.

Gonna take the drivetrain to a Honda Tech I know a few hours away to look at my trans and check a few other things out.

Drivetrain was pulled and taken to get worked on. Bought a gear set and LSD from a 2013 Civic Si with 14k miles and found a set of KW V3 coilovers. Also bought new front lower control arms, and inner/outer tie rods, and some Hardrace upper control arms and compliance bushings.

Guess its time to update with some pics.

Engine about ready to pull

Some of the parts

Engine out

I was keeping the Hatch stored in another garage, so went to check on it to make sure it was ready to move. Put a different set of wheels on it, the set that was on it were mostly flat.

On the trailer ready to roll

Tucked into its current home

Now the RSX is loaded up to go where the hatch was

Had to move the Spyder outside out of the way for all the swapping

First bath in probably 6 years

More parts came in

Took some pics of the current shape of the bay
