my car seems to be leaking oil from where the head meets the block.

does anyone know what this could be?

i just recently went to a K24 oil pan, could the shop that did the work have overfilled it with oil by accident?

my oil pressure at idle is around 24 psi, crusing at 3000 rpm it is around 85-90. the dipstick level is full, even a little over the full mark. the dipstick should still read correctly because i'm on the k20 block, right? even with the 24 pan.

it's also been losing a little bit of oil pressure when i put the clutch in or come to a stop. it'll drop to 15 or so then jump back up to 24.

the oil is eneos 5w30.

thats EACTLY where mine does it. and it builds up on that part in the 3rd pic

i dont know what it is though. maybe the head gasket aint that good.

yeah, it just accumulates there.

i don't think it's the head gasket because i would think it would be leaking coolant as well and i would be having other problems.

i really hope it's not the head gasket though .. i don't know what else it could be ..

usually there is a trail from the oil fill cap that goes around the valve cover and ends up there... Happens if you miss the oil fill hole when filling it up!

i don't really think that's it. i've cleaned that area off with shop towels at least a few times since i've noticed it leaking and it just comes back every time..

assuming it's not oil that missed the cap, is it safe to drive on as long as i keep adding oil? the car still seems to pull fine, and i have a pressure gauge to monitor my oil pressure.

everything sounds same for me, except im not losing oil pressure. i wipe it spotless, and it just keeps coming up. its been about 1-2 months since i changed my oil and its still full. i have yet to figure it out without pulling anything off. i dont see how miising the cap would end up with oil on the back side of the head.

that's exactly what's happening to me. i just added like 1/4 a quart of oil because it was starting to lower the oil on the dipstick. agh.

could it be the vtec solenoid?

the car isn't revving over 4000 now. it feels like it's hitting a rev limiter.
